    Thanks Hollie.

What size is the largest cake board you can use with that?

I've nearly finished my first cake and am now worrying about how I'm going to wrap it!

Not been on here for a while - everyones cakes are looking good.:T

I buy 80 wide cello and use a 12 inch board. I do the "tube" method, so the 80 inch is the height when its wrapped around the cake. So you can buy as big a board as you want.

I cut a length a bit longer than the circumference of the board, overlap it a bit and tape at bottom to hold. (I do this on the bed) Sometimes, I scrunch it up at the very top at this point and wrap a loose band around top as it makes it a bit easier to manage while I get it over the cake.

You now have a tube of cello that you just pop over the cake.

Pull cake over edge of table and secure at 4 "corners" with tape. I then put cake on its side and fasten rest of cello underneath. (I buy the sticky back book cover rolls from Wilcos and cut out a circle and stick onto bottom. Theres no chance of it coming unstuck then, when its lifted.)

Turn cake upright and undo top and do any aranging you need to do before fastening top properly.

    Hope I've made sense!

Just finished this cake for someone.

Thinking about having a go at making a square tiered cake next.....are they as easy to make as a round one. Also wondering how you keep the sock roses in place...do you use double sided tape. As you can tell, still very much a novice !

    Hi cherydee

I did a square one for my first one and personally i like the round ones better - you cant really get the crisp corners here is a pic sorry its large comp playing up!!!!

Thanks Katie for the advice ....might be best to stick with the round ones as I would not be happy if my corners were n't square.

I have just popped into Tesco Home (Bristol) and they have 3 for 2 on all baby clothes inc blankets. Wasn't the most popular person in the store but bought three sets of 3 pairs white socks - £2.50, three sets of two scratch mitts (blue and pink) - £1.50, three sets of 5 bibs - £6.00 and three blankets - £10.00. Cheapest item free so yes I did them all as seperate transactions! :D

Hi lizalloareds, The teddy was one of Asda's I'm afraid. Way back when they did the ellies and Lions. I bought a load of them as they reduced to get rid.

Wish they would do the cream Lions again, everybody loved them!
