Cat04 i sometimes use the blankets from B&M think there £2.49 and there the micro fibre ones so very soft,i know there white shawls are £1.99 so u could get a cheap blanket from there.i do mini nappy cakes at £16 i make about £6 on those so u should be able to do it,i buy my stuff in bulk though wheras i dont know if u do u may need to outlay first so wont feel like u are making a profit.

I went in B&M this morning and their baby section was looking a bit sparce, I'm hoping this means they'll be re-stocking it soon! They had a couple of pink fleeces, but that was it, and I needed a hooded towel as it was for a bath time cake.

Tonight I've bulk ordered pull bows, florist ribbon, roll of cello, and some glue dots so I've got the wrapping stuff sorted for much cheaper than I bought for my first cake. I've got a pre-order for a cake in December when my friend's nephew or niece is born. I'm so excited about it all now :) I never would have thought I'd be able to do this without the input/advice/instructions and kindness of all the 'bakers' on this thread. It's like I've finally found something I know I can do :T

My poundland had them a little while back, pack of 4. haven't seen them recently but every store tends to be different so you might have some luck in there.

I think you will be hard pressed to do one for £15 including shipping, it costs me £7 to ship alone and thats if i use a box I already have

You were quite right about not being able to do it for £15 all in, but all ends well as it was £17.65 and that's fine with my friend. I've only charged her cost price as I don't have a lot of confidence in my baking skills just yet and she's an old uni friend so I'm happy to do that for my first one.

Anymore orders that need posting will be priced accordingly. I'm just thinking that this cake was only a 1 tier bath time cake (contained 3 Johnson's bottles so that will have added to the weight), so how much will a 3 tier cake cost to post???!!!

I know I've read previously in this thread about couriers but I didn't write down the ones ones mentioned, so can anyone recommend a decent one with reasonable prices for future reference? Ta!
