  • I have also been EVERYWHERE for silicone cupcakes muffin thingys. Tried Asda, £land, everywhere. No joy here :(

Also having probs locating new soft toys at a reasonable price. Ellies have gone now, any ideas?

Also, am needing baskets to make up hampers...where can i get some cheaply??

Oooh questions questions!! Shows I have been away xx

Studio Catalogue have a set of 6 coloured silicone cake cases for £1.99 and The Works have lots of lovely soft toys, the shining stars ones are only 2.99.

    Hope this helps.

  • For swirling have made myself 3 rings ( each the size of my tiers) out of a cerial box. I made these as i was using abiscuittin for the botom tier but couldnt find the right size for the other tiers. Also I swirl from the outside in, arranging the nappies around anything i need to put in the middle.

Does anyone know where I can get a nice lined wicker basket for a "bathset". I have seen one for 1.99 at Dunelm but it is lined in lilac which is not really suitable for a boy.

jojo_sapphire, I do the swirls the same as you using a "roses" tin for the bottom tier. The problem is, I use a paper tube in the middle of my cakes (from bottom to top) so everything has to go in the middle.
When I roll nappies, I can put odd things outside of this by removing 1or 2 nappies but it's not so easy when they are swirled.
Do you put the "folded edge" of nappy, on the outside of tier or inside?

I think it's the way I "swirl". I do one big swirl - not in smaller sections so the only place I can put stuff is in the middle which I do anyway.
Not sure about it at all but I was getting worried about the nappies being messed up with rolling them.

I still roll mine without any complaints, and I find I can get the shape rounder by rolling instead of swirling. Also as you say it is easier to put things inside :)

Look in Home Bargains, I picked up 2 x TY monkeys for £1.69 each, they are baby safe aswell! ... I am doing a jungle themed cake for my friend who is having twins, more awkwardly we think she is having one of each sex so should be fun!
