It's a bit quiet on here at the moment, is everyone on holiday or just busy baking?

My little one keeps me busy constantly, bless him!

Had 2 last minute orders in at the weekend :j. Slowly spreading the word, need to start advertising more but think i will wait till my oldest is back at school. Is anyone having to increase prices? Everything in the shops seems to be creeping up in price :(

    Afternoon everyone!
Not been on here for a while - it's been very quiet just lately.

Yes! I agree what you say about prices snookles. Matalan have put their blankets up from £3 to £4 - I think that's a big rise. Everything else seems to have gone up too.
I have resisted putting up prices yet as I have a lot of stock so when I have to restock I will have to think again.

Am in process of changing from rolling nappies to swirling, but don't like the finished effect. (okay on little ones)
On the 3 Tiers it doesn't seem to be as stable and you can't put things in between like you can when they are rolled.
What does everyone think? Have you changed over?

Heres a few minis I made yesterday.

P.S. How do I get pics Side by side?

Moonpenny, your cakes are stunning. I had 4 orders come in yesterday, I seem to be getting a lot of last minute orders, but that's fine with me as long as they're orders!! I much prefer swirling. I fix them with a eleastic band then put the stuff I need to in then tie with curling ribbon, keeps it all tight.

I think it's the way I "swirl". I do one big swirl - not in smaller sections so the only place I can put stuff is in the middle which I do anyway.
Not sure about it at all but I was getting worried about the nappies being messed up with rolling them.

I do one big swirl, i.e I put either a rolled up nappy or body wash or whatever in the middle then keep wrapping round. What I do if I'm doing a big cake is tie curling ribbon around after every 10 ish nappies, so for example if I had 18 nappies in a layer, 1 would swirl 10, tie it off then swirl the other 8 around them then tie it off again. I find I can stick things in like brushes, bottles etc and they will stay, hope that makes sense and helps x
