  • Matalan, they do a whole range of WTP items, they are more expensive though but fab quality!

    Beautiful cakes moonpenny and lizza.

My friend is having Twins, she has only just found out, have bought 2 monkeys for the top and want to do a jungle themed cake, not sure weather to leave the cake naked and put clothes etc on the inside? I have jungle themed ribbons for it already and can add some other bits and bobs to it but not really sure wether I should leave the cake naked or do an all white cake with jungle ribbons?

Hello rusty, its been awhile! This is the twin nappy cake I made ages ago.

    Good Morning Everyone

Long time no post, hope you're all ok?

I need some help ladies please - I've been asked to make a 4 tier cake for a new baby in neutral - however - this is the hard part - she doesn't want any nappies in it?! She wants the clothes, toys, everything else that we'd use, but no nappies - has anyone any ideas what I could use instead?? lol

Cookiedough38, your twin cake is lovely, how many nappies did you use on each tier?

You could maybe use towels? the nappies are the strength of the cake so you would need nappies or something like towels unless you can use blankets and muslins but even the muslins would probably be too flimsy!

    Hi Rusty

Thanks for replying, it's a problem isn't it!

Someone suggested using milk, but I think I'd have to buy a few tins or packets - ?

Maybe towels might work, but it's knowing how many of those I'd need - could be expensive, couldn't it!

Hiya I would use a bath towel or bath sheet similar to ones used in towel cakes threa, I find Primark super luxery ones the best as very fluffy and soft. £5 each
Also if cant get primark use normal towels but maybe wrap a baby hooded towel around it so looks more baby friendly

    hth helen xx

    ps kate congrats :)
( sorry not online much ds3 has now been diagnosed aspergers and adhd so not been online much, 4 out the 5 now special needs :( )

:TWow you lot are so inspiring :T

I absolutely love this nappy cake idea and all of your pics are truly amazing and I mean all of them as ive been through the whole thread since yesterday lol!

I would like to make a nappy cake for my Sister's first born and I was wandering if you lovely people could give me some ideas?
The thing is, is that I would really like to do a really massive cake. Has anyone ever attempted that?
See I have bought many many luxury items because this is my only Sister and she is very special to me so I would really love to put all of these gifts incoperated into the cake.
For instance I have bought quite a big blanket for a cot-bed how would I wrap this around the layers if you know what I mean?

Anyway I would really really appreciate any help and advice you experts could give me, thank you x

    Hello,
I am Augustsmummy aka Nic, and I am a newbie to this thread, although I have made one nappy cake that went down extremly well :j which was a gift for my BIL.
I am now making a small one for a christening for the son of a friend and customer of mine (I make cards, and she is my best customer :D). I have opted for a personalised blanket bear and a lovely blue blanket, and size 3 nappies (as Jake is 4 months).

In answer to pp, could you not use the cotbed blanket as the bottom tier? Swirl it around a bottle / bottle of baby wash?

(I would like to post a pic of the sucessful one, can anyone tell me how to please? :) )
