New Nappy Cake

My husband suggested that i start making cakes to sell and other crafty things made a keepsake album out of chipboard. i would love to make lots of nappy cakes / towel cakes / chipboard / cards etc.

I am currently out of work due to ill health do you think this could make a viable income???

This could be a viable income but it depends on how much time you want to and can put into it. For it to be a full time income will take lots of work. I don't do bad from it with website orders and things but a lot of them do come from standing at fairs etc to promote myself and sell stuff. You also need to remember that if you make any money from it it must be declared to HMRC so if you are claiming any type of benefit whilst off work these may be affected.

very valubale info - couldent stand at craft fairs etc at the mo so maybe not such a good idea

For the 2 ladies with ME good for you both for doing as much as you can on your best days. I have a very good friend with ME so I know how nasty & cruel the illness can be!! I take my hat off to both of you!!

Hi, yes i do mean the cakes to eat. I only come on this thread and the towel cake one so must have been on here. Some one posted a pic of the ones they made as it was for a baby shower.

Tthe cones were on here , it was a while ago. I think they were made for a baby shower

Yes, these seem to be the same kind as cotton wool katie found as well........what a brilliant idea. Great for a kids party, its my grandsons 3rd birthday next month. If I can find the flat bottom cornets at the supermarket I will give these a try.
