What a talented lot you all are on here! I have seen a lot of beautiful cakes and have read about half way through the thread. I have been making cakes & other craft items for family & friends for a little while but have decided to try & sell them now as I was made redundant last year. Hope you dont mind me asking but those of you that have websites, how did you go about putting them together. I really cant afford to pay someone to do it, and as I am relatively IT literate I wondered if I would be able to do it myself. However there seem to be a few sites out there that supposedly offer you a free site bit I dont want to end up getting conned. I really want to host/edit it all myself as I dont like the thought of it being in someone elses hands. Anyone got any ideas please. TIA0

Yep, been ill since I was 11 and bedbound the past 8 years with it. Its how I've got into doing nappy cakes as I can do them sitting up a few minutes at a time etc
Viable income bit i think woulddepend on your level of health, giggle makes an income from it but does a lot ofgifts and a lot of fairs but that would involve being out and sitting up or standing a lot of the dayBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

My husband does my website for me so I have no idea on any of that stuff - I know a lot of people who have done their own free or cheap websites and they do look really good - they have said that they are easy to do. I think mrsite or something does a package for £20 ish and gets you all you need in it. The only drawback with these cheaper site things is that google doesn't like them much and doesn't bring them up much in the search results - so I am told anyway!!0
