Carmim, Your twins cake is gorgeous! Bet she loved it!

Just noticed you have cut away the background on some of your pics (white background) What do you think of it and have you tried other colours?

I have tried white and black but really not sure about them - they seem to lose something! - seem a bit flatter. Maybe cos they lose perspective sort of floating in mid air.
What does everyone else think of plain backgrounds?

I have just finished this "boy" cake. First time I have used just black and white.

I promised myself I would stop buying things but its so hard with the sales and I keep seeing really good bargains.

Good Luck to all who are doing fairs! Hope you sell loads.

I usually take 1 three tier, two tier, 2 one tiers, mini cakes and lots of other small bits and bobs like sock cupcakes as that's usually what sells, people tend to have a tenner in their pocket but not £30/40. I haven't been doing this all that long though so others might have a better idea.

I take similar like you say its mainly the smaller stuff that goes - having said that the last few I have done have sold some 3 tier :D. I use it for orders and advertising rather than selling and customers do come back and order stuff.

Is there a help type thread to show how to put pics on. Have made my first cake as a present and some feedback would be great.

DaisyFlower - To put pics on, You need to register with something like www.photobucket.com and download your pics onto that.

you then hover your mouse over pic wanted and a box appears underneath with several options. You need to click on the IMG code (think it's the bottom one) and then copy, go over to MSE for your post and paste in the box.
A load of letters will come up but when you post, your pic will appear.

You can go into "your account" at photobucket to pick what you want to to appear - full pic, thumbnails etc.
You might also want to play around with the size when you upload your pics. Once you've made them smaller, you can't make them bigger again!

    Hope I've not confused you!

Thank you, had forgot all about photobucket as not used in years. My cake needs a base and i'm dreading wrapping it but a little tweaking of the ribbon and i'm happy for a first attempt. No other new babies due yet though to try again.

Carmim, your twin cake is so lovely.

Moonpenny, your boy cake is gorgeous. Really like the black and white!

Daisyflower, great cake for your first attempt!

Really am getting nervous for tomorrow now as it's the first time anyone apart family are seeing my cakes. Sold my first cake yesterday to a friend as well, she was so pleased with it. I hope the parents like it!

Have a lovely weekend girls :)
