New Nappy Cake
Comments
-
Hi I was just wondering where you all get your public liabitity insurance from? I am just trying to get mine in place but its too confusing!!
Rachel -your nappy cakes are lovely -I love the feathers! I have been trying to set up my facebook page for ages but it keeps crashing and generally getting on my nerves!
Emma83 - I keep a reasonable amount of stock so that I take one picture and can replicate it without too much trouble for website orders. I then make others to take to fairs etc although very similar they might varyin the toy on top etc with me reserving the toys I have in the pics for website orders. When I run out I take a fresh picture and update it. This is what I do -I'm not sure about others. I do also say that designs can vary just incase!0 -
I've decided to get off my backside and try to do this for real! Thanks for all of your comments. xx
Tomorrow I will be mostly printing off all of my pics of completed cakes and taking them, around local businesses to see if anyone is willing to stock them. There are quite a few places that I intend to visit including Florists, chemists & toddlers playcentres.
I've been planning this for the last few days but have been spurred on by my 1st sale from an external advert tonight so I've decided to go for it.
OMG, this is getting scary!!!:eek:0 -
Good Luck xpf
Wish I was brave enough to do that, I think I'm too critical of my own work though - lol

Yeah you go xpf !! You'll do really well I am sure, there is a massive gap in the market for this!
Let us know how you get on!
Do the shops charge or do you pay a percentage for them displaying them??
Also, on average, how much do you make on each one?? xxI am a very proud Mummy and Wifey

xpf Good Luck to you You are in better position than me as I;ve just started doing it and become self-employed at the same time so it's a little bit hard for me. I am sure you are busy to day and will find shops for display.0

brudie25 I don't have the insurance but the lady at worshops told me that you should first ask in the company where you have home insurance or car insurance it should be cheaper0

Thanks for your comments girls.
Well I didn't have the most productive day but have managed to get a couple of places to put some posters up. Didn't have any luck in getting anywhere to stock my cakes as the owners didn't seem to be about today but I'll keep trying. If nothing else it was good exercise walking to town and back (especially as I bought more 'ingredients' whilst there and they weighed a tonne!)
I also have a full time job alongside this so all is not lost yet!
Kate, I'm from Cumbria0
