Is it really worth buying from a wholesaler? I thought i found a good no min spend site. The site states pack of 6 teddies to be £2.00 but when i add them to my basket it is per unit so £12 plus £11 p&p and £8 VAT total= £31 for 6 teddies  that are just bog standard teddies
I want more than 6 but that is just an example. There is no way i can afford to buy wholesale at this rate.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
Want to be fit for 30 not fat at 30

The thing I use on my best selling cake is from asda, and they have stopped selling it! It was the first 3 tier cake I had made and remains the most popular, I can't believe that they have stopped selling them!

    Hi Rachel

The cupcakes look good, where did you get the little boxes from, they're very cute.

    Hi Sally,

Thank you, the boxes actually came with the socks from the wholesalers!! I thought I'd rather re-use and recycle than buy more boxes.

Hello to everyone, I haven't posted on here in absolutely ages! Nice to see some old faces around still and loads of newbies with some great cakes too.
Well I've been updating my style and design and deciding on how to go with the cakes, STILL haven't updated the website yet as DH hasn't sorted it for me yet so it looks total rubbish still. However I have got round to redoing my facebook page for them tonight, so for any old faces who would like to see them they're here

Hi Beccy, your cakes are beautiful!! I'm also on Facebook as Rachels-Nappycakes. I was just wondering how much do you charge for your cakes?

Candy hello, thank you. How are you getting on with them?
Hi Becs, all is good thanks. I haven't been pushing the cakes over the last few months, what with DD's hospital appointments etc.
I'm still keeping to the same designs but have some good friends/customers that keep coming back for more, so must be doing something right :D I really must make the effort and push them again.
Doing plenty of other crafting mind you, with the kids at my work .... god I love my job :D

Hi Rachel I charge £55 for them. That is for the 3 tier including the swaddledesigns blankets. If anyone were to buy everything that is used in or on the cakes at retail price it would cost them appx £46 so I figure people would look at that and be ok with me charging £9 effectively to make it up like that for them.Of course with buying some items wholesale this enables me to make more profit. When I see things like the Harrods nappycake and see what that sells for it gives me the confidence to charge what I do! (Mind you not sure if they do actually sell any at that price!)

Saw those Swaddledesignsblankets for £20 in Boots today - they are lovely but sooo expensive!! your cakes are gorgeous Becs - I love the peter rabbit one!

Rachel - I too try to earn between about £7-£10 percake for making it up and any profit comes from buying items reduced. In my 'Luxury' £50 cakes the items retail prices generally add up to approx £40-£41 but obviously I do my best to buy them cheaper in sales etc.

Thank you Popkins, I just fell in love with the blankets popkins as they're really different. They are huge as well so I liked the fact they coiuld be used in different ways.
