Hi Rachel I can't find you on Facebook!!

Hi Janlayrom my page should be under Rachels-Nappycakes, you have to search under pages and not people - if that makes sense?! As I'm a new user I'm not allowed to post links!

Everyones cakes look really good. Kate how did you get your cakes into the shop? Congratulations on that by the way - i hope that it goes really well for you!

    Speak soon
  • Hi Rachel,
I've just took few photos of my cakes to show what can I do I haven't thought about it that the lady would like exactly the same as on photo but she wanted to see it "live" so I'd bring two of them from car to the shop and she loved it but she asked if she can have on it different toys so I'll change it a little bit.

Liz, about the blankets you can't see in on the photo but the blue one has stars on it a pink one harts and a white one dots. Go to B&M and buy they are really great and in my shop they have also new blankets now simillar to this from primark (fluffy) in white, cream, pink and lilac for 2,49 if I remember...

Hmmm did a cake for a friend of a friend a few weeks ago (she facebooked me and asked if I could do it within a few days). I was happy for this and got it done. Now I can't get hold of her!!

She isnt picking up her phone, has ignored my facebook messages (even though shes posting on there) and hasnt replied to my txts! Grrrrr.

Have to ask. Seriously thinking about having a go at this and know there is a craft fair at our local national trust property in the spring (so soon). Thought I could make up the basics (1 teir, 2 teir, 3 teir, mini cake, cup cakes and bouquets) in a selection of colours and use this as a good chance to get photos of everything so I can finally get my website up and going.

Has anyone else done fayres here? Did you get anything from it?

I'm in the same predicament as you. I did a 3 tier nappy cake for a really nice lady who posts on here but haven't been able to get in touch with her, even though I posted it to her last week. I'm quite worried about her actually.

I also did two towel cakes for Mother's Day, with Best Gran Me To You Bears on top of them, and they've been ready for weeks but the girl has just cancelled her order this morning, so they're now available too!

I wonder if anyone else asks for a depost, because it's not something that I've done up until now, I've always just made the cakes and then got payment after the cusstomer has received them.

I do lots of craft fairs and i must say i do really well with then but i have now been doing nappy cakes for about 5 years now (maybe a bit more). I do come up with new ideas all the time and people do come back time and time again. I took my new gifts out the other week and they all sold really really well. So i would say go and give it a go but it may take time to pick up

I do quite a few craft fairs too - I agree yo uneed to alwsys think of new ideas etc to keep people coming back to you. Although yo umay not always sell loads on the ay be patient take loads of business cards and sometimes people order over the phone/website etc after they have seen you. ALso people may not want one immediately but willcontact when so and sos baby is born in 6 months or whatever.

    Hi Kate

You "new" blankets you mentioned in B&M £2.49. Have they got emb in the corner or plain? I am looking for plain furry ones - they used to do them ages ago but now they all have pictures on.

I have only just started out doing nappy/ towel cakes but also have a personalised chocolate bar company and ALWAYS take a deposit or payment upfront, because people really don't care that you have had to buy the supplies etc and cancel all the time!!

    I hope that helps xxx
