chatty123 love your cakes, the first one really stands out.Can i just ask were you got the winnie the pooh blanket and the elephant from.
    thanks.

hi ladsmadd so sorry for not replying earlier I have been away for the weekend and didn't take the laptop,
As Rusty says ( thanks rusty) the blanket was from matalan, and the elephant was from asda last year. i stock piled them whenever i saw the cream ones as i usually like to use co ordinated coloured teddies with the cakes if at all possible. like Rusty says tho you wont find any in there anymore.
i have my eyes peeled looking for teddies every time i go anywhere and my mum and aunty go on the buses free all over the place so they too have a shopping list... ha ha

    wow some fab cakes :T:T
mine dont look half as good as some on here .

I have 2 orders for towel cakes valentines and have no ribbon, was wondering if anybody knows or where do you buy yours as i have no ribbon in stock at the moment, its too thin. 1 cake is hot pink so i was thinking a black ribbon or black and pale pink? then using white and pale pink feathers sticking out at the top with a pink glittery heart on a stick that i have with travel size smellies and candles round the 1st tier, its a 2 tier cake :)

thanks again apprecaited if anybody can help

    Helen x

I was just wondering if anyone personalises stuff for their cakes? I have just been given an embroidery machine and thought I'd give it a go but no idea how much extra to charge etc. I thought maybe £3-£5 for up to 9 letters? I have only used it a couple of times so far and not entirely sure if it will embroider towels/fleece blankets but we shall see

the pricing is right, be careful that the people know exactly what they are getting personalised as i have known people to expect every item in the nappy cake personalised and are not prepared to pay any where near the value to get it done.
Any Embroidery machine should be fine for towels and fleece BUT for both of these you use a normal stablizer on the back and you also need a special topping for the top the water soluble is the best and easiest to remove after you have finished, if you embroider on fleece, towelling, knitwear or anything with a pile to it you always need a topping as well.
  • I sold my 1st ever cake a few weeks ago. The person is yet to give it yet. I'm no business but I stuck a couple of labels with "Created by StephMT" that I got for free. I'm hoping that word of mouth might get around. I also told the person to feel free to pass on my details. The receiver works in a child care centre so I'm hoping that they will give it to them a work to generate lots of interest!
