Hi there, I have trawled though but have some questions if someone can help?
- How do you attach the tiers or dont you(I am only doing 2 tiers)?
- How do you attach the teddy or whatever at the top?
- If you use a base/cake board how do you attach it?
- Have you ever posted one and if so how did it transport and what did you package it in?

I don't attach my tiers, but if it's a big nappy cake I sometimes use a baby bottle in the centre of the first tier of nappies and the top of the bottle then fits into the base of the 2nd tier of nappies...hope that is clear? Once they are wrapped in cello, mine don't move at all, and I don't attach the teddies either, once the bow is tied at the top of the cello it holds them in place....I just set mine on the cake board, if I'm using one (I don't always)....hope that helps! I don't post mine, they are either collected from me or I deliver locally..... hthCazo1:wave:0

chatty123 love your cakes, the first one really stands out.Can i just ask were you got the winnie the pooh blanket and the elephant from.
thanks.
Sorry to butt in but the WTP blankets are from matalanthey were £6 a few weeks ago so presume the price is still the same? The elephants are from Asda, but you will not be able to find them anywhere now as asda have stopped stocking them

Hi Sarah,
I don't attatch the tiers on mine, nor do I use bottles or anything else in the middle of my normal cakes, on my more expensive ones I do use toiletries etc in the middle.
I don't attatch the teddy either, nor do I attatch it to the board, infact I don't even use boards now as they added to the price of the cake and I don't make them to make masses of profit, I make a small amount on top of my prices. The cakes all stay together nicely when they are wrapped in cello.
I do post my cakes on a regular basis all over the country, I pack them in a box which is just a small amount bigger than the cake itself then use protective peanuts and air pockets, I have only ever had 2 problems with posting, but I have probably posted around 100 now which isn't bad going.
Chatty - Beautiful cakes as always xxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I was just wondering if anyone personalises stuff for their cakes? I have just been given an embroidery machine and thought I'd give it a go but no idea how much extra to charge etc. I thought maybe £3-£5 for up to 9 letters? I have only used it a couple of times so far and not entirely sure if it will embroider towels/fleece blankets but we shall see0

I was just wondering, after getting some lovely reduced clothing in Asda for a £1, if anyone used sleepsuits, fleecesuits etc to cover the layers?
I have tigger set which is lovely. Oh and i dont know if anyone uses newborn nappies, but they are £3 for a box which includes a pack of size 1 huggies, atravel box for wipes and wipe sample, a newborn nappie and a swimmers nappies Plus a £2 coupon of newborn nappies and £1 off littles swimmers! making your next box at most £1. Bargain!0 -
Very silly question I suspect but...
When you buy the baby bits to go inside the cakes to you snip out the label that would say "George" or "Earlydays" etc or leave them in?
Thanks!0 -

If I do a 3 tier cake I sometimes do a blanket on the bottom layer then sleepsuit or Pjs on the middle then a muslin on top:jPobodys Nerfect:j0 -
