I started out by rolling the nappies and was using around 35 per cake, I've started fanning the nappies and they use way less nappies, around 25 per cake.0

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
Moneysaverlou, how many do you use for each tier please?
Thanks Carly!

I use around 12 for the bottom, 8 for the middle and 5 for the top tier, it really depends what I put inside too, the bathtime cakes have so much stuff in the middle, I struggle to use that many nappies!0

Just done another cake, train this time, I don't know which one I like the best though - what do you all think?

Hi Sally,
I use a 10" cake board but i have some 12" ones that i use sometimes ( on ones with thicker blankets) 12-14 on the bottom, 8 in the middle & 5 on top. however i do usuallyae 2 johnsons products in the middle and sometimes some clothes.

Sally - your cake looks great - if you wanted to keep the teirs as they are why not move the 2nd tier over and put the toy on the side with his leg hanging down! I have done this with my xmas cakes this year for a bit of something different and I like them! There is some pics on my website if they are any help! I use around 15 in the bottom, 10 in the middle and 5 in the top usually. But I do use quite a thick blanket for the bottom layer and wrap it around which makes it look fuller.
I agree - wrapping is a nightmare - doesnt matter how many I do I have tried every technique going I'm useless at it lol perseverance is the key so am i told LOL. They do look ok I suppose when they ae done but dosnt make it any easier!0 -
Thank You mumoffour77 and Carly for your suggestions of wrapping. I was thinking of taking my 1st one to get it wrapped properly and then they might ask about it. Plus the 1st one is for my sister so I dont mind spending the money on it.
I do want a go wrapping it myself and have had a look at the celophane on ebay but it is just the Size that I am usure of what to order to make it gather at the top! Any Suggestions?
Moneysaverlou - How do you fan the nappies out? Is this the same as swirling them? I like you Baby Train, that is really nice, it's really nice to see other creations apart from the standard cakes.
Another question... The cake board; how do you all make your cake stay on the board? Mine is sat on the board but I can easily slide it out which I'm not sure if I should be able to do that, I'd like to think it should stay!
Any advise please?
TY Danielle

What Size Cello do you use to cover the whole cake so it gathers at the top.
Thanks
