That's a lovely looking box Sally, looks expensive, where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking.

Mumoffour77 :T - Thank You for suggesting I take my cake to a local Florist. I did just that today and got 2 wrapped. Looks like I won't need to wrap them myself.

While I was there she said in the New Year I can take her a cake up and she will display it in the shop!!! They all seemed very interested in it too!! So hopefully something will come of it in the New Year. I'm looking forward to making another one now.

Just need to try and make a pram too.

Thank You So Much For all Your Help! :A

  • I am going to go out at weekend and buy a few supplies and make some up then pick a selection of florists from different areas around me.
I was amazed when she said they would stock them!! :j

Has anyone got any help on pricing them and how much to charge and how much to add on it for making it? I would appreciate it if anyone would help me with it?

Sal- The florist charged me £3 to wrap them both up in Cellophane and put bows on. In my eyes not worth the hassle of trying to do it my self!!! I will post a picture as soon as I can! I want to show you all and see what you think!

    Thanks

    Go you!!:j
OK........the florists may well put a price mark up on them.....so you need to be realistic, If you aim for between £7-£10 on top of your costs.....then watch and see what the florist puts on them:rolleyes:

Get yourself a cheap mobile and sim card.......print of some business cards on your own PC and printer just black and white....and stick it to the plastic of the cake board....you will be amazed at how many calls you will get:cool: once new mummy opens the cake!!

From this then you will be able to judge how much the florist sells for and gets then take £3/4 pounds off it for personal business:o IYSWIM!!

The other ladies or maybe gents:confused: will probably be more than likely to advise better as I have only just started doing "cakes"
Ps....I cant wait to see a pic either!!

    Hello Ladies

Wanted your opinions on this - not a cake, but still a baby pressie - it's a baby keepsake box which contains 10 x Pampers Size 3 nappies, 2 x baby bottles, 2 x pairs of scratch mitts, 4 x wash cloths, 5 x pairs baby socks, 3 x bodysuits, and 1 x baby blanket.

Sally I love the basket idea its beautiful:D I love the idea that the basket can be used as a memory box for the baby!!

did this then altered it a little as i didn't like it. I moved the frame to the other side of the cake and pulled the bib to hang right down the back.

    Thank you Mumoffour

I thought it would be nice to keep as well and even if they didn't keep baby things in it later on, it could be used to keep other things in?

Here's a pic of it again, just in case anyone missed it - I was thinking about decorating it with something or other, what do you think?

That looks good with the bib down the back, well done.
