Hello, I made it out in the hope of buying baby christmas stuff. Asda didnt have any (nor any pink hooded towels thati needed), some how i managed to spend a lot though! Went to next clearence and mothercare clearence- lot of rubbish! I was shocked at how expensive some of the mothercare stuff was and quite a bit i thought was poorly quality for the price and less soft than asda!

Where do peopleget their xmas stuff from? Are there any online stores doingthem (also after white blankets). We dont have a home bargains aroundhere.

    Thanks x

    Hi Irishgirl,
I used the towel bale from m & s and just used the 2 bath towels on the bottom tier, the 2 hand towels on middle tier then I used 4 flannels as the top tier.

Hope this helps. The cake has nothing insode it is all just the towels rolled.

Thank you becs! your towel cake looks lovely! I was worried in case I do not buy enough towels to make this.

I'm sure pretty much everywhere will have it in before long but most of it is over priced in my opinion! Matalan are usually quite good but they don't have any in yet in our local www.elizabeth-anne.co.uk have a few bits but you have to buy in bulk as its a wholesaler - depends how much you want to spend also do you have a QD? they have some nice xmas cuddlies in for 99p!

Just thought I'd post photos of a couple of wedding towel cakes I've made recently - here is the first one I did - ingredients are: Towel bale - consisting of 3 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 flannels, (bought from Plumbworld really cheap) chocolate hearts, 1 Marital bliss bar, silk flowers, cake board - I also made a co-ordinating personalised photo album and put the cake on top of it - thats what you can see in the 'wrapped' photo

Will be back in a mo with photos of the one I gave to my brother & future SIL yesterday! :D

My brother is getting married next week in Mauritius so thought I'd make them a tropical 'Beach' Wedding Towel Cake, ingredients are: 2 'Just Married' Beach Towels, 2 flannels, His & Hers 'Just Married' Flipflops, Bottle of Moet Pink champagne, 1 Marital Bliss Choc Bar, Heart Chocolates, silk flowers, cake board - gave it to them last night & they were thrilled!! Loved making it!!
