Irlrip - They used to have plain white blankets in Home Bargains (the soft short pile furry ones) Also, what about the white Bobbly ones they were selling in Home Bargains and B & M. Not been lately so don't know if they still sell them!

SallyUK Your cake is fantastic! what a change from "sweet" Baby Cakes! LOL

    Moonpenny - Unfortunately don't have a HB or B&M up here :(

hi there, I'm a long time lurker on the special occasions board and I'm hoping one of you lovely ladies could point me in the right direction.

my best friend is pregnant with twins and I would love to make her a nappy cake (or fabby hamper if I'm no good ;)). is there a 'recipe' for what you put in the cake or is it just nappies and blankets - is it possible to include socks/booties/baby bath/toys in these things or does it look at bit too much?

I'm sure this info is in the forum but there are too many posts to read!! so would be grateful for any help

    many thanks xx

rik - you can put whatever you like in it! There really is no limit! Mine usually have nappies a blanket, muslin, soft toy, large baby talc, socks, rattle, baby brush and comb, bodysuit and a baby soap. Depends who its for really but you can put anything in it. If its twins just double up on stuff or make 2!

Love the cakes...I'm gonna have a go at making two Nappy Cakes...we've got 2 new additions to the family soon..one boy...one girl. Just wondering where everyone gets their cellophane from...I don't do e-bay...is there a shop that I can get it from? Thanks.:D

For the 1st few cakes I made I just when to the local florist and asked for some and pull bows. I bought 2 rolls for cellophane from easyfloristsupplies for £7.00 something each and pull bows at £2.81 for 30 bows The delivery charge to NI is quite expensive but a friend is buying half of every thing. Hope this is of some help.

Irlrip - Been to Home Bargains, B & M and Matalan today and there are no white blankets to be seen In fact, there are hardly any blankets anywhere! B& M did have some white ones with "pics" on but like me, I think you are looking for xmas so need to be plain white. Matalan had some Christmassy red patterned fleece ones. They also had xmas sleepsuits, bibs etc.
If I see anything else, I will let you know!
