Brudie, pmsl!!!! I am not too hot on the ol' sewing front. I can do a straight hem and that about covers my sewing "talent". Wonder web is fab for the likes of I!
On the cello front, do you use the "tube" method?
Dopey Dora, gorgeous cakes. I did a towel cake recently and it turned out ok! Well done."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
Gorgeous cakes Dopey_Dora!!! Currently in the process of making a Wedding Cake myself - hope it looks as lovely as yours!!
Just quickly popping on for a bit of advice please - have just had my first order that needs delivering - EEEK!! Where would be the best place to get a box & how is it best to send it - courier companies? A friend of mine mentioned that her BIL used to use a company who you arrange to come and pick it up & they supply the box & everything?!!! Not sure about that myself! Any advice is much appreciated - its for a 3 tier cake - don't want to lose the sale just cos I can't work out how to send it!!

Hiya,
I bought my boxes in bulk of ebay as it worked out alot cheaper. They have all previously been used but arent written on or torn at all. I also state in my T&C's that I use recycled packaging - so far it hasn't been a problem.
Regarding couriers - I set up an account with a company called www.saletrackparcels.co.uk You have to deposit £50 to get started but if you book your collection before 12noon they collect that day and usually deliver the next day. Each delivery is just over £6 inc VAT. So far they have been great but I also hear that parcels2go are quite good too.
HTH:dance: Thanks to everybody in the crafting threads who inspired me to start my own business!!0 -
