  • Please could someone tell me what a 'Nappycake' is?

Hi - its a cake made from nappies! ideal gift for new parents - contains nappies and other baby goodies eg blankets, toiletries, clothes etc
  • Mrs Edwards to be - I get my cellophane from a seller on ebay - 4.20 ish for 20m x 80cm

Angelkay - fab cakes - especially love the pink one and that cute giraffe on top!

I love these cakes they look brilliant. Could I please ask what you put in your middle tier? My middle tier always looks too small compared to the bottom layer.

Mrs Edwards to be - I too get my cellophane from ebay. Will pm you.

  • Hello Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining the thread, just I randomly stumbled across it (I was 'on my way' to the wedding and anniversaries board!) and decided to have a peek. After seeing so many gorgeous nappy cakes I thought i'd try myself since my cousin is due in a month.
I was going to put a pic up but I can't figure out how to do it!

my problem seems to be it doesn't look like a cake but more of a...squashed muffin! its only two tiers but just looks odd compared to the ones on here!

Also - where does everyone get their cellophane from?

    Thanks everyone

    Melanie

If you only need a little bit then ask your florist i thinkmine sells it @ 20p a mtr it is cheaper to buy a whole roll but only if your gonna use it!

    Really lovely cakes everyone!

Angelkay, You said all your cakes "look similar" - well mine do too! I think we all get into a way of putting them together and what look we like, and stick to it.

I always think it's funny that they are all much of the same but I can recognize who made a lot of the cakes just by the style.

Good to hear everyone had good days with their fairs!

Irlrip, I think your Piglet cake is really pretty! I love the white flowers on it.

Subject Xmas - Has anyone seen any white fluffy bootees ideally under £3? Been making some xmas cakes up but can't finish them without these. Also some tan (reindeer)colour ones?
