Here's a cake I made for one of my colleagues, she told me what type of items she wanted in/on it. She was very happy with it when I took it into work today:D I should have taken a pice before I wrapped it as you can't see it very well with the cello on:rolleyes:

  • Candy, I find doing the "2 ears" method of bowmaking produces the best results (does that make sense lol). I think I would go for a neutral colour too.
I've tried that too and still I've failed miserably!!!
I am thinking neutral too, I love the cream/brown theme, do you think it would be off putting ??
Here's one I did previously, with some green added.th_Picture058-1.jpg
    Obviously it looked better wrapped.
Or do you think better with the lemon theme ??

    Hi everyone

Can I ask how you fasten the ribbon at the back?

Don't worry, I am not going into business, I don't know how you ladies do it! I have been making my nappy cake for about 6 months :rotfl:I finally had to get a move on with it as my DD gave birth to my 2nd granddaughter yesterday so hopefully will be going down to visit soon and take it with me.

It doesn't look too bad but need to fasten the ribbon properly, at the moment I have just pinned it, waiting on your expert advice

    Thanks

I use a small piece of clear tape on the florist ribbon, then tie the fabric ribbon at the back in a knot and tuck the ends in.

Congrats on being a grandma again :j hope mum and baby are doing well.

    Candy I love your brown/neutral ;)

    Stardrops lovely cake.
