Vicky was it you who was looking for the Tigger blanket in Blue from Asda?? They are now back in stock in my local, but they have changed the pink from piglet to Bambi. Looks very pretty though.

Home Bargains have some small teddies in that are 1.79 each (if I remember correctly!!) They are presented in a small box and the bear is a neutral colour with either a blue bib saying Mummys boy or a pink heart saying Daddys girl. They may look quite nice on top of a cake. I'm going to try them out. They are ever so soft to touch!

Just had to post a quick reply to thank everyone on the last Nappy Cake thread, well I think it was the last one, it's been months since I read it and gained my knowledge of Nappy Cakes. :p

I made my first (and last lol) cake this week for my Cousin's wee one. I must say, even if it sounds as though I'm blowing my own trumpet, I'm chuffed to bits with how it's worked out. :j

I managed to cram in 38 pampers [size 3  ] nappies, packs of bibs, sleep suits, disposable changing pads, weaning spoons, cutlery set, talc, creams, feeding cloths, sheets, bath towel, socks, teddy, blagged a 15" cake board from Tunnocks' factory... etc etc... and it still looks like the intended cake. :D

My Mum has taken photos of it before we got it wrapped at the florist - got the most gorgeous "new baby" cellophane wrapping (not see through though so no good for showing) & bow for £3 - I was well chuffed. When she goes back home on Sunday she'll upload the photos & send them to me, I'll post them on here if that's ok?

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again, I think 'Mum' & 'Dad' will love it to bits, and it couldn't have happened without you guys.
  • My latest 3 cakes .... ordered by the same lady !!!
I wasn't too sure about the yellow tesco teddy, but I think now wrapped he doesnt look too bad. He didnt sit brilliantly on the top, hence his legs are now inside the cake.

Also found a supplier for cheap new baby teddies ... just got to give them a ring and see if I can get them cheaper from the wholesaler as they should be cheaper ;)

  • Made up 3 cakes for the local florist night before last. Finished them off yesterday. The owner asked me to take a couple in so he could see them and hopefully he will stock them.

I changed the ellie on the top of the blue one to a new baby teddy and it works much better.
