Alternatively, once you've been shopping with them a while, you can look at previous orders and click from that area.
Have I lost the plot?Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
I did my first on line shop with Asda this week, love Asda but nearest, too far to go.
Everything great, on time all there, BUT delivered by Mr Happy....only words he spoke....sign here....obviously no job satisfaction. I think it would be quite a nice job too.if i had known then what i know now0 -
Dear On-line Shopping Folks,
I've been trying to get my wife to shop online (Tesco's) but she is concerned about quality of say goods like fruit and veg. Normally, she would hand-pick the veg, but is of the view that low-paid staff in Tesco's will not use the same care.
Say 1Kg of apples are delivered and some are bruised - how does one get replacements?
Additionally, I am sure that most of us will hand-pick items that have the longest "sell-by date" by giving this responsibility to someone else, will they use the same dilligence?
I am a fan of on-line shopping - BUT I NEED YOU HELP to convince my wife!

I'm sorry, but I'm with your wife on this one, adchesney. Every order I ever had with Tesco had a problem with it and I spent more time sorting it out than I would have doing the shopping myself.
For me, it wasn't worth the aggro and hassle; other people have reported good experiences, but it depends on the store!Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800 -

Did my first online shop with Asda this week, bought the Lanson Black Label champagne that was posted on the Grabbit board. Was supposed to be delivered this afternoon but have just received a call saying that they don't have any in stock, don't know if it is coming back in or whether they will be honouring the price. I am fuming as I had especially arranged to be in this afternoon. I phoned customer services and they were completely unconcerned. I certainly won't be bothering with online shopping in future.0 -
I have had nothing but good experiences with shopping with Tesco online. I used to go to our local Asda and the cost of the taxi home was more than Tesco's maximum delivery charge.
I used to find that when you went there I would end up buying myself treats to justify the hassle, with online shopping the opportunity to impulse buy is removed - I have saved about 20 quid a week on my grocery bill.
I was a bit wary of ordering fruit and veg online at first, but the stuff I have received has generally been of a very high quality.0 -
I've started doing my shopping online at tesco since using this site. Not sure I save a lot of money but I do save a lot of time and that's even more precious. Have saved up about half the points I need for my next ferry crossing so far so I suppose eventually I will feel a money saving.
The tescos near us (Huddersfield) is really grim and I would never shop in store there, but would go to a nearby Sainsburys (much nicer but more expensive). Shopping online I don't care.
I've also shopped at asda and sainsburys online but found Tesco most reliable for being on time and with the least number of substitutions/missing items. I'm sure this will be different for everyone depending on the performance of their specific local stores.
My only gripe would be the fact that they use about a million carrier bags to pack your order. I always give them back to the driver next week as the website claims they will be "recycled", but I wouldn't be surprised to learn they go straight in the bin.
Just thought of another gripe. I hate it when something is bogof and they only send you one of them. Fortunately hasn't happened very often and shows up in the substitutions when it does.
I've never had the same driver twice yet but they've all carried the shopping (usually about hundred pounds worth) up my long and steep drive into my house so full marks there. (And I've never tipped them yet or even considered it until I read this thread!)0 -

If you don't have time to check at the time, an email to CS always works. I was unhappy about a sell-by date being too near. Again refund. According to Sainsburys, their staff are instructed to pick items that will last the longest ( ie at the back of the pile if we were to go back to shopping in store again!)
I really would recommend it. I hate the queues, lugging stuff into the boot and sorting out at the other end. Now it's just the sorting out at the other end and occasional shop for bits that couldn't be delivered.
Give it a try! It suits us because we live in the country quite a way from nearest supermarket!0 -
when you have your goods delivered do you check it against your shopping list and the quality of it in front of the driver? or do you let him go and check afterwards?Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
Well at least i learn something on the way
