    Evening all

thanks for the kind thought re. my mum ...she gets her results late tomorrow -so pinkies crossed for a bit longer -then hopefully I will be back with good news

Sharronej -i know what you mean.. I have just decided to slacken the purse strings a little, including starting to look out for some organic ingredients -it won't be everything ..just what I can find at the moment..
Already this week I have noticed the difference just by having got more fruits etc in ;)

Anyway we have just nipped out and I collected a few bits whilst I was at it :osomeone must be looking out for me as I picked up some organic bits whoopsed :j:rotfl:
    • 6 organic mozarella whoopsed to 60c each
    • a 300g organic salami -whoopsed to €1.50
    • 2 packs organic ham -whoopsed to 49c each
    • 500g pack organic diced steak -whoopsed to €2.79
    • 10 organic eggs NOT whoopsed -€2.99
    • 4 packs beetroot @99c -its €1.49 everywhere else so I got some for next month
    • another bag of frozen pepper for next month and beyond -€1.79
    • 2 blocks feta @79c
    • plum tomatoes 79c -saving some seeds for next year as they are lovely;)
So thats another €20 -but most of it is for next month ;)..and Im still well under budget with 8 days to go and no need of anything before next monday (famous last words :p)
The salami will get sliced and frozen in portions tomorrow, along with the mozzarella -that will be the base of the HM pizzas along with plenty of veg etc.
The steak will do us 2 meals ..hubbies birthday is coming up so I can see a steak pie on the menu that night :D
right Im back off to my x-stitch,,have a great evening everyone :D

  • Well I managed to spend another £47.22 over the weekend so I have't been good. I will struggle to come in on budget, I am going to try changing things next month, I am going to shop weekly rather than doing a big shop at the begining of the month. Hopefully this will help me keep in budget in July.

£57.73 spent on the weekly shop, which is not too bad, compared with recent weeks. But I also spent an unnecessary £4.25 on coffee and a sandwich yesterday lunchtime, so I was a bit cross with myself.

My delivery from Approved Foods came in at the end of last week. £40.26 including the £7.odd charge. But it is such good value for the goods purchased. Only snag is DS eats it all the faster!! EEK.
Still with in the budget. Must be missing out something? Will have to check my purse for receipts and see if I have slipped up somewhere.

    Mooloo,

lol, I know what you mean having three teenagers but I have found that the following helps ;) HIDE IT! ;) :rotfl:I have allocated a wardrobe in my bedroom which I stock pile - making sure the goodies are hidden at the back. I just bring it down when I need it. I also have 90 cans of beer hidden in my neighbours house to stop my husband from guzzling it (I bought enough on Mr'T's last special to give him 7 or 8 cans a week which should last 10/11 weeks but if he knew where it was it would be gone within a couple of weeks

90 cans of beer in two weeks, so thats 6-7 a night ? Would he really drink that much ?:eek:
Good job you have hidden them.
I spent £35 in Lidl yesterday, purchasing extra juice and bits for DS's 'party', as well as a normal amount of FV, bread, stock up on salad dressings etc. Seems a lot but I got 1 large and 2 medium bags worth of things! Then spent just under £30 in Tesco, again stuff for 'party' and also for cake making (have cake to make for DS birthday x 2 and also stuff to make for Church event at the weekend!). Of the total, £35 came from the food budget and the other £30 came from the 'birthdays' budget, as we would not normally buy so much cakey things!
Anyway no more big shopping for a while, just top ups/whoopsies if there are any.
Fingers still crossed for your mum MrsM, my mum is in hospital right now and I understand how you feel!

    Morning all!
Just a quick update - no grocery spends since Saturday but I now need cheese and milk and maybe potatoes.
I have a sudden yearning for cheese and potato pie and have some spuds but probably not enough.

We're both away this weekend (OH from Thursday-Sunday, me from Friday- Sunday afternoon) so that'll help the grocery budget a bit. I'll do the shopping on Sunday when I get back for next week and that'll be the last shop of this month's budget.

I should comfortably make it this month but I have been using up the freezer stuff which is now virtually empty so a big restock is due after its been defrosted. Oh well - I suppose it goes in circles:confused:

I'll update the signature after I've been shopping- probably just to local shops as I don't need to be swayed by things in Tescos!

Probably not but they wouldn't last the month out that's for sure! My dh has the same attitutude to beer as I have to chocolate - if it's in the house it has to be consumed :rotfl:

Hope your mum is feeling better soon, your's too MRSM
