TheBees are keeping on track this month. Treated ourselves to a Chinese Take-Away last night but that's from a separate budget.
We've eaten more of our new potatoes from the garden and also started on the lettuces we've been growing too. :j
I'm constantly updating and reviewing the menu plan and am hoping to put off a food shop until Thursday. Can I manage 3 NSD's Mon, Tue, Wed?!:rotfl:
Good Luck everyone.
Home grown new potatoes yummy :j:j:j***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0 -
Morning all.
Well a new month starts for me today and I still have a smidgeon of last months money left.
Managed to get 4 packs of local steak mince in the Coop last night, reduced from around £2.50-£2.70 to 56-68p. There were only 4 and normally I'd take 2 and leave 2 but last night it was quite late on and I thought I'd be greedy for once! That will make mince n tatties for tonight and 3 packs for the freezer. It is normally about £5.99 per kg but this reduced it to 1/4 of that, which is a great price for Orkney steak mince!
Anyway, thats all for now. Hope you are all feeling inspired!
(PS Still not posting exact totals but watching the overall budgets I have!).

DH did the shopping alone last Thursday and after searching high and low, he has finally decided he must have thrown the receipt out  He tells me that is was about £35 - I had estimated about £30 and he got a couple of extra little things so it does sound about right. So just gonna update my signature now - if a lil late... Hope everyone is doing ok xLove and compassion to all x0

Try a little washing soda in warm water. Hope you're dog's alright, too.
Is it just me or does anyone else loathe Ald!? Maybe it's just our store that's rubbish for basics, but ours is really useless. Their flour is in kilo bags, for starters, and they don't even sell plain rice. In fact, they don't sell any of the stuff needed for stocking the baking cupboard. Their only redeeming features are bread, milk and the 49p weekly fruit & veg offers.
Groceries still costing me more than budgeted for, but store cupboard's still full and freezer is still full.
Hope everyone is doing OK, sorry I am unable to keep up with the thread.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I don't rate A!di either Nyk - no way I could do all my shopping there while we wait for Mr M to finish the refit and get the store open !!!
As I've said before, the only things I'm going in for are milk, bread, and Super 6 (if they have anything amongst those that we'll actually use). But I do check the clearance - got some nice rolls last week (4 cheese topped and 4 malted) at half price or thereabouts, plus 2 packs of diced stewing steak (also half price), and then my 16 quarter pounders yesterday (at half price again). They also do a pickle flavoured crisps (biscuit type like Cheddars) that I enjoy - but they didn't have any yesterday and I couldn't see the price label for them either. Hoping they've not discontinued them :eek:Cheryl0 -
not a particular fan of aldi either. i do pop in occasionally to get the fruit if its what we like and I like their teacakes and bloomer
had a NSD yesterday :j going to need a few more if I am going to keep to budget. the bbq we had on saturday really threw the budget out , buying extra beer and wine and salads and meat. we had such a good time though - you cant put a price on that can you ?
hoping to keep things very tight for the next couple of weeks0 -
Spent 30p on 3 packs of crisps, on reduced shelf.
Not sure if me and the children are going down to Oxford for a few days this week or staying at home, need to decide soon because if we are going we can only get a lift tonigt. We will be staying in a Travel lodge so meals this week may need to be quiet imaginative.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

My delivery from Approved Foods came in at the end of last week. £40.26 including the £7.odd charge. But it is such good value for the goods purchased. Only snag is DS eats it all the faster!! EEK.
Still with in the budget. Must be missing out something? Will have to check my purse for receipts and see if I have slipped up somewhere. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
MRSMC - hope all well for your Mum, thinking of you both.:grouphug:
Well as you can see from my Signature I have well and truly blown the Budget, too much entertaining at the weekend, BBQ, Alcohol, Birthday Tea etc etc - some serious damage limitation will have to be done for the rest of the month.:o
At least we all had a great time, the weather was great too so it was well worth the expense and I think as others have said on here recently, money isn't everything.;)
The only good thing was the salad leaves, rocket and lettuce have shot up in the last week so had a couple of bowls full over the weekend that at least saved us a couple of pounds and the taste is far superior to anything from the Supermarket.:j
Dinner tonight will be leftovers from the Fridge, seems to be a lot in there so no money needing spent today.;)
Hope you all had a great weekend, off now to double check meal plan for the rest of this week and check money spent will be minimal."WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.
