OK so half way through the month and i have spent £134 which is soo low compared to my normal spends - the cupboards do look al ittle empty but maybe I am addicted to shopping and they dont need to be so full how many tins of beans can a family eat!!! Kids are moaning there is nothing in but they are managing but do need to do a shop this week - have been doing a general meal plan and it is working so hopefully i can come in at around the £200 mark - fingers crossed. Also need to get into habbit of baking as if i made several cakes which i have ingrediants for and freeze them kids will always have something to munch on when they get home. Bread maker also needs to go on more often as last few loaves have been from local shop and have been £1.29 each eeekkk!! especially as i have bread ingrediants in cupboard.0

Hi all,
Well I've come on here to admit I've gone over by £5ish. Not too bad considering I've decided to start S/World again this week and that entails buying low fat bits and bobs for me as well as the family shopping.
Should be okay for the rest of my June GC - it finishes on Monday and I should have enough in, although I will need some more f&v.
I use a cashback credit card for my groceries - pay it off each month plus get a bit back as cashback - every little helps....

Should just stick to budget as long as I'm careful for the rest of the month. Got £70 left and am going to try to use up as much store cupboard stuff as I can instead of buying. It's the fruit and veg that make the biggest hole in the budget. I go to Aldi and take advantage of their brilliant prices, we're even growing a few bits and bobs in the garden but not a lot ready to eat yet.
I keep a separate account and card for the grocery budget. I find it helps me not to overspend as once it's gone it's gone. Before I started doing this challenge I used to spend almost double on groceries.
Next month will be hard as I'm going for a £260 budget for the month. However, we will be on holiday for the first two weeks of July so there's no reason why I shouldn't stick to it, although DD will be home alone and will need stocking up with ready meals before we go. :rolleyes:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Well I spent another £7.08 last evening in Mr S. That means... gulp... £5.80 left for the rest of the month!:eek::eek::eek: :rotfl:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Afternoon All!
Congratulations searching_me on the birth of your little boy:j
Mrs McC I hope things turn out ok for your mum, it's such a big worry to have.
I'm still battling away with the budget -what's left of it:o
At least I'm buying minimal veggies now as the garden is producing quite well - I have a flush of swiss chard, spinach and kale at the moment, so trying to use it all and freeze anything I can. Had one lot of lovely carrots and a few broad beans so far, so can't complain.
Just a small tub of cream to get today for the raspberries for pud. and hopefully that will be it. I'm going to make a salmon salad for dinner tonight as I managed to get a big tin of pink salmon from MrL for £1 and that will go with some salad from the garden and new potatoes.
Keep going everyone and have a good evening!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Another 3 litres of milk for me today - and a 2l carton of Raspberry Ripple ice-cream (was planning on vanilla, but none left in the shop!)
So a spend of £2.76 for me today.......Cheryl0 -
Well, I was totally fed up shopping on such a tight budget - I am feeding the equivalent of five adults (3 Teens, dh and me) and I haven't been enjoying cooking with such limited ingrediants so I have been a little defiant today and bought some foods which I fancied rather than foods I can stretch! Does anyone else ever feel like this? Anyway when I got home and had a think about it I think that I have probably bought enough to last a couple of weeks anyway. I bought the two chickens for £10 at Mr T along with some 1/2 price cheese and pizzas, I've also put an order in to Approved Fds for £28.00 and I've managed to stick to the offers which we will eat - I learnt my lesson when I bought about 50 boxes of seaweed which then cluttered up my fridge for weeks before we threw them away :rotfl:
I've started with a BBQ Pasta with Chicken and Bacon, Salad and Garlic Bread. I used the legs of one of the chicken and then froze the remaining legs and the two wings for a soup later on. The cost per portion was approximately 60p, so maybe not the cheapest meal but still pretty good. Tomorrow will be a Polish version of Chinese Chicken served with Rice. I bought both the BBQ stir in and the Chinese Chicken from AF and they worked out at about 12p each. Hopefully, I can managed a Chicken and Veg pie as well. I think OS is firmly rooted in my brain  even when I don't want it to be :rotfl:
I suppose technically I shouldn't include the whole of the AF order because it will last months but I can't be bothered estimating the monthly cost0 -
Well I've completely lost track
. I kept the grocery money in a seperate jar as thought it would be easier to keep track of but it's all gone horribly wrong
. think it was far to easy to just dip in, I know DS's karate subs have come out of there & his school trip money and sponsership money etc... I'm sure I've gone over my budget (£130) but can't find all the receipts, so to try and limit the damage I've done a meal plan until the end of the month and had a Mr T delivery on sunday, included were enough bread, milk nappies, potatoes to last us until month end so I have no reason to step foot inside a supermarket until July!
