Well, I really need to sit down and work out where I'm up to. I know that I haven't spent a lot but I am getting a bit lost, went to Home Bargains today and bought some of the Amoy noodles and Hoi Sin Sauce unfortunately I had parked miles away so by the time we had finished it was a very uncomfortable walk back to the car!0

I spent £1.53 on milk, when I went to get petrol this morning. (And £6.90 on two magazines !!oops).
I used up the other half of a packet of MrT's mince, 60p worth, with a carrot, some ripe tomatoes a bit of Maggi sauce, a few porridge oats, half an onion and some gravy browning that was lurking in the cupboard.
Had it with a jacket potato. It was very nice, and there is enough left for two more portions!!
Getting back into the thrifty habits. Not as good as a lot of you, but I have been out of practise and usually feeding the whole family!.
DS has gone out, so he would have had some if he had been here.
I decided to have Pudding, so I had 1/3 rd of a tin of sliced peaches and a dollop of tiptop. Which set me back about 10p a tin from approved foods, ages ago!!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Spent 21p on some reduced ginger yesterday - Some I will use in the next few days but there was quite a lit of it. Does anyone know if I can freeze the rest to save it for later? If I can freeze it should it be chopped/grated or whole? TIA...
You can freeze ginger whole or grated. Sometimes i just grate it straight into an ice cube tray and then freeze it. Think one ice ginger ice cube is equivalent to one inch of fresh ginger.
Oh my lord i really need to stop spending, went to tesco again and spent £16 odd how why ? god only knowsbut it did include food for OH's birthday tea, milk, juice, bran flakes and fruit and veg. Also bought a piece of lamb shoulder (reduced) so were having that on thursday for tea.
Got an absolute bargain, well i think it is anyway. Spent £2.50 on a 25kg sack of potatoes so that will last us the month !
Well off to watch ashes to ashes season finale, bye for now.
P/S please could we have the recipe for the cupcakes they look lush!0 -
Hi all,
Went to my Mum's Ald* today and got some of their super 6 fruit - 2 x cherries, 1 x pineapple, 1 x plums plus some chocolate bars (lush), sesame seed and raisin bites, and the obligatory 3 pack of eccles cakes to treat my Mum (it's her birthday this week). So another £5.92 spent.
Came home to make chicken curry and realised that we had no chicken LOL! Ended up having sausages and couscous which was different. Did the same thing the other day - made chilli and realised at the last moment that we didn't have any kidney beans...Think I'm losing the plot :rotfl:
Off to update sig.

One of the customers of Mr Shortie is a sausage maker and Mr Shorties sometimes buys some from him and sometimes gets some given free.
Today he was given (for free) a tray of cumberland sausages and a tray of cocktail sausages. Each tray split into 3 large family sized portions, yummy.... :TApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
