Thats a great wage for an 18 year old!

There are lol Well they either don't have a job and are claiming off the dole or do work at a job that unfortunately wont get them very far. I know having a job is better than no job but I'm so glad I have found a job with a good career behind it :) gonna probably do my NVQ2/NVQ3 and then do my access course to become qualified :D

From the replies that I have read a lot of people have salaries in the 25K range give or take.
So £25000 / (40 hours per wk * 52 wks) Gets you £12 per hour

Which is a lot by most people

What I want to know is why are these people on MoneySavingExpert.com
If I was on that kind of money do I still need to know about getting Cheap Car Insurance, Amazon Buying Tricks and Best Balance Transfers

Makes someone on minimize wage wonder

Why pay more than you have to for something simply because you don't know what's available or how to save? Regardless of wage, MSE way of thinking can make a difference to your lifestyle.

Between myself and my OH we total over £55k but with joint debts from previous relationships/times of earning less, high childcare costs that we can't get help with, a massive chuck going out in tax/NI and high costs for commuting to work etc means that we don't have much leftover at the end of the month.

Don't assume that just because some people earn more than minimum wage that they are rich. Believe me, it's far from the case.

Through gritted teeth... why are us people on MSE?? You are living through blinkers. Everything is relative my dear!!

Do you think because we have more coming in that we do not need to save money or that we would be happier to pay double for our car insurance, hello???

 cant believe you actually said that lol. Gone on tell me your a single young person. Try running a home with 225k mortgage, two cars, two kids and everything you need to get by on £12ph.. not as easy as you think.

Oh and I am currently stay at home mum = no pay
