Wealth isn't measured on how much you spend, it's how much you save.

pray tell more! what exactly is involved in that?
Basically initially marketing the fund to rich contacts he developed as an investment banker. Once he had about £300m of committed funds he engaged some property specialists and some other experts to purchase commercial properties and care homes in some selected locations across Europe. Now he engages property managers to manage the properties, an office manager and an accountant to run the business. The costs are met from the 1.5% per year management fees deducted from the investment fund and the rest is his. He works from home, its really part time effort, and he nets around £1.5m per year for himself. You need the contacts and CV to make people believe in you enough to hand you £300m in the first place and some expertise on good investment opportunities. Not many of us could do that but if you can and have some knowledge of certain markets and a good list of experts to help, its not rocket science but it sure pays better.0 -

We feel very content
Yes, we met at work :-) - no, she doesn't work for me. Same company- different departments and different directors we report to.
We are very fortunate with our jobs. I started my career standing in the mud taking measurements on building sites, my girlfriend started as a CAD monkey (computer drawing) on 22K. We managed to work ourselves up the career ladder by specialising in a certain discipline each and having taken advantage of the good times where a bit of job hopping moved our salaries upwards. The biggest salary jump was when I got headhunted 10y ago and similar for my girlfriend when she was approached by this company 4years ago.
My tip: Get yourself known within your industry and never burn bridges when you leave a project or company.
Biggest bonus for me ever: meeting her in the office!!
Be careful, between you you are earning over 150k, and we know where that gets you when you post it on here :rotfl:

We are not living together yet, so does that helps?
My girlfriend introduced me to this site after she finds it so useful when she had problems with her landlord about the deposit; she won the argument and got what she wanted. :T Similarly she gained great knowledge from this site when she was buying her first property last year! :j
This site is not just about penny saving; it’s a great information source for all those who at some point have to deal with issues or need to make decisions which could have a financial impact- big or small!! :money::T0 -

We might have to let you off then :rotfl:.
I agree, I'm on good money (or at least for my age, i'm not anywhere near your league!!), but I signed up because I was renting my first place as I dont want to buy yet (being only 18) but I wanted to do something with the money I have rather than wasting it, and I've had some brilliant advice on this site, it's helped me so much.
Plus I dont want to waste the money I do have, as my situation could change any day, so I want to save as much money as possible, and sadly I am from a middle class family so I couldn't just live off of my families money for the rest of my life!!
I'm just glad that the majority of people dont think that you cant want to save money if your on more than £25k! :T'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
Im confused about this. I'm not claiming to have read every single one of the posts, but I have read the vast majority, and I've found that many people on here have listed their job, their wage and any benefits that they get. That seems to be all that bendix has done, so why is he getting grief, and not everyone who has posted? The point here seems to be that someone on a higher than average wage cannot post his wage without looking arrogant, but someone who is on a much smaller wage is fine to post theirs as no-one will get jelouse.
Yes, the country is going through hard times, but this man seems to have worked hard for what he has got, why shouldnt he be proud, and why should he be treated any different to those who are on wages under 25k?
The opposite to what you are doing seems to be to look down your nose at people who are on smaller wages, and noone would except that, would they?!
I also totally do not understand your point about the mobile phone, everyone has listed their perks, and he has done the same. A saving of at least a few hundred pounds is brilliant (yes, even for those who have abit of money!) and therefore it is not a minute detail.
I arent having a sly dig (if that was aimed at me) i am just saying how I feel, as I think that you are being very judgemental.
Rant over, sorry everyone, I seem to be taking over this thread'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0
