  • Hi, my first post here too. Really interesting thread, and a little depressing seeing some of you high earners!

I've just had a baby so am earning nothing at the moment as I was a s/e nail tech.

In the middle of an online internet marketing/web design course and am half way thru designing my first website. Costing me more than I thought at the mo, but will be worth it in the end I hope. And I Absolutey LOVE IT.

Trying to think outside the box in these trying times!

£19,500 as a senior helpdesk agent for a large IT company , I did think it was a fairly good wage before looking through the rest :(

still very skint as we have 3 kids, lots of debt and partner does not work

  • I am a self employed specialised optometrist, very lucky earn about £85,000 annually, can choose to have holidays whenever i want and for however long i want there are no restrictions but obviously earn less if i take long holidays. Have a couple of friends who do the same sort of work who work for about six to eight months each year, earn about £40000 to £60000, then go abroad for a few months in the winter for a long holiday then just come and work for another few months, there is always plenty of work when they come back, it is a very flexible. So they are very happy too i think. Very lucky i think as the state of the economy does not affect us.
