Local gov finance about 21K (tad over), pension benefits worth another couple of K on top.
Benefits the pension :-) flexi time, 36 hour week, few others.
Couldn't even begin to contribute in a meaningful way towards the household bills, if DH left me I'd be ********ed.
But I have no ambition, just like to coast along - not seeking promotion or further training, just happy doing what I'm doing.
Would like to do it closer (have to drive 7 miles to work), but thems the breaks.0 -
I do 64 miles per day, but the guy over the road from me does 120 mile per day Mon - Fri and has done for a few years now.0

41 years young, Credit Controller (experienced) - £22k, South East. Was on £25k, but made redundant and had to accept lower paid job. No qualifications, fell into the job ...I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?0 -

First post so hi everyone!
24, female, full time worker at Sainsbury's, just got a payrise to £6.23 p/hour, equates to around £12,600 a year (ish). 10% discount on everything bar cigarettes, top ups and fuel, rising to 15% at certain times of the year. Yearly bonus of up to 3% depending on how your store performs in certain catagories.
Difficult wage to live on, stuck in a retail trap and can't get out!0 -
Management Trainee role -£18,500 however, there is a good training and developement package, flexible and challenging with a great company. Husband pays for all the bills and and all the necessary. I just pay childcare costs which varies depending on holidays and weekly shop..the rest I keep! Oh..yeah.. I also have to pay for all the holidays we take! Which then leaves nothing!0

I'm 35, I work as a purchasing consultant, and my last role (ended last week) was on £175/day. I'm currently interviewing for a new role on £40k.
No benefits (other than expenses and mileage), no holiday pay, no sick pay, no pension, no training but quite happy to continue consulting rather than go perm somewhere.0 -
