  • Management Information Analyst.

Basically I provide reports to managers about all aspects of the business.

It's more a technical role, querying databases with millions of pieces of data. People higher than me make decisions on it....or lie about it if it doesn't suit them!

I know the feeling - any opportunities for insider trading:eek::D;) or did I mean "whistle blowing"?
  • Hi all,

Interesting thread. It's nice to see the increases in salary for people as time progresses.

    18 - Part time Customer Service assistant - 15k
    19-23 - University -4k
    24 - Software developer - 22k
    25 - Business Analyst - 24k
26 - Move to London Work for one of the big 4 as an executive consultant 40k
27 - Promotion to manager 67k + car allowance, pension etc

I'm extremely fortunate to earn the new salary that I do but it does come with extreme pressure and demand. For example just this morning I woken to attend a conference call with Australia with no notice.

On the plus side I do get 30 days holiday, opportunity to work from home, an expense card that is rarely monitored.

I absolutely despise my job, it's energy sapping from the get go, I might be on good money for what I do but that doesn't interest me, I'd much rather be on less money but enjoy my job or at least get challenged by my job. Who can't input some details on a computer system !!!!!!.

Must say I'm surprised at the level of salaries on here, I thought more people would be on more money (admittedly I only read the first five pages).

I just want to be self employed, I am constantly trying to think up business ideas and hair brained schemes.
  • Interesting thread!

I'm an MI Analyst for one of the big 6

    Current salary - £23500(ish). I'm 25

    Career...
At 22 I was a Vustomer Service Advisor, started at £14,750 increased to £18000 in just over a year.

Started this role 18 months ago on £19,800.

In the process of hopefully getting a slightly different analyst role where the top of he salary goes up to £30k. I'll hopefully earn my age by then!

    What area?

I as an MI Analyst for an insurance company on £17k ish..

Loved the challenge of the job and did sooo much more than a general MI Analyst which included capacity planning, resourcing, etc etc.

I only did it for 18 months though so not got that great of an experience and since leaving it in 2010 I've not managed to get back into it which is a shame as it's the only job I've ever had that I truly felt challenged in and that made the days go far far quicker.

I'm a theatre freelancer, currently working as a production assistant for a local theatre company for £10 an hour. Unfortunately it's not full time so searching for something to help add to the income. *shakes fist at rather useless drama degree*

(worked as a courier/ contract haulier in the past)
