In my case I work for a large IT consultancy company who sell our software and services (i.e. me) to other companies.

London-based role but the reality is I end up spending 80% of my time wherever the current client happens to be based.

There is a concept in economics that says the largest rewards go the the person (or organisation) that can built the biggest bridge between two disparate organisations/cultures.
A simple example is selling arms to Saudi Arabia.

You are doing a bit more than project managing - presumably you have to sell yourself as a representative of your firm to disparate customers, each with their own culture and foibles and realistically you are only as good as the success of your last project?
The above being at least as important as actually getting the project technically correct, hopefully on time and within budget?

    Im a temp @ 21k

But taking a lower salary to be made perm

I remember those days! Then I made that good impression when working temp they head hunted me for work to do full time keep at it!

Having said that I am now a (probably in my own opinion) under paid web developer. But the experience is top notch stuff so I can't complain. Going to start looking for extra work properly now since I have customised a few things people could potentially want.

My standard income annually is £15,550 gross not allot really when you think most junior web developers start on around £17k+, although I confess not having looked at any other positions around so I could be wrong.
Doing some indepth analysis of my outgoings it's a real eye opener!

I find if I keep paying by card and keeping the receipts insisting that I have them from the shop, then itemising them when I get home on excel makes my life a whooole lot easier!

Can I ask if you're in a private nursery or local authority and eg North or South?

As my friend is a nursey nurse in the NW and earns £15.5k pa - although she has been advised that she's been underpaid, as the Council placed her on the wrong pay grade, 10 years ago!
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.
