  • Is this the IT expert in an enterprise that does other things - eg mechanical engineering.
or is this an enterprise where there are a number of IT project managers because IT is the heart of what it does. - eg some sort of financial trading?.

I have just been listening to a BBC World Service programme running since the 1990s. called "One Planet".

    It is the last programme.

Perhaps "environmental issues" are an unaffordable luxury in a world of reducing living standards?

48 (shh) I earn money online, varies from £12-20k/year... but I am lazy and unstructured ... if I actually "worked" at it I could make that £30k... but it's always "tomorrow" :)

In the past I've earnt all manner of salaries, here are a few at random:

    Age Salary Job
    28 £15,000 Director, IT/software company
30 £6,000 Commercial Vehicle Hire Manager (Mercedes)
    34 £14,000 Serviced Office Manager
36 £18,000 Operations Manager, IT Helpdesk company
    37 £27,000 Data Analyst, IT
    38 £25,000 Project Manager, IT
    40 £50,000 Project Manager, IT
    41 £22,000 Project Manager, web/elearning
    43 £16,000 Office Manager, photography/digital library
    45 £16,000 Internet Marketing Executive

Kind of lost my way .... geography played a part in that though.

    Thanks.

It might be useful if posters said South East or North West or Scotland etc so we can compare salaries, without being too specific on town/city.

    23, paralegal

5 months experience, but a degree and postgrad year aimed towards the job

21 days hol, plus bank hols

    £13,500

Well done for completing an LLB and LPC! [I'm guessing] Salary will improve every year and a lot after 2 years. I started as a paralegal on £12k pa in the NW and was earning £26kpa plus £4k bonus after 4 years. It then jumped to £32k pa with a new firm, before I was made redundant. But savings helped, before I found a new job.

Had some terrible jobs in the past with terrible pay but have to say my first ever job at 17yrs at Safeways paying £5.10p/h brings back the happiest memories....we had such a laugh there! :-)

    33 days hols is amazing!

The Partners at my old law firm only got 30.

In my case I work for a large IT consultancy company who sell our software and services (i.e. me) to other companies.

London-based role but the reality is I end up spending 80% of my time wherever the current client happens to be based.
