Are there still plenty of hours/tasks available for this job? I can honestly say that when I had the job I never felt so bored. An hour's work felt like three hours. People comment on this thread saying "oh i'd love to do this job but i was unsuccessful" because they naively assume if it's internet based it must be easy.
The screening process is tough and the revision material for the exam needs to be thoroughly understood. I'm not a naturally technical person but have taught myself a lot about the internet, web design, SEO, affiliate schemes etc.
Be aware of what you're actually applying for because as I say (although it doesn't apply to everyone) it can be a difficult, boring and not to mention lonely job. It demands concentration!0 -

i was actually glad to leave the job. I found it THAT boring, and I worked really hard and often didn't put in for tall the hours I'd done if I'd got stuck. The reason being of course knowing how strict they are with the quality/quantity ratio. To be honest, I think they ask a bit too much of their raters at times - they are very demanding and from what I have heard about the "cull" a bit unfair.
I'd rather be working in a factory for a few pounds less because at least time flies if you ignore the clock and there's no communist work ethic0 -
It's a genuine work from home opportunity that pays real money. There are precious few of them about, so if that is what you are looking for then it's a good opportunity. In the grand scheme of employment of course there are better and more fulfilling jobs; in the grand scheme of home working opportunities it is a decent job. That's how I'd see it.0

So who can tell me more about Lionbridge? They have been mentioned in another thread but ive not had a response, thanks.
Work from home as an internet assessor
A popular question I’ve seen on many forums is whether legitimate opportunities to work from home via the internet exist. In a word, yes, such jobs do exist but there are only a few I know of that aren’t scams and are definitely worthwhile.
For a couple of months I held the position of “Internet assessor/quality rater” with a company called LionBridge Technologies, who are contracted by a well known search engine to carry out various tasks. Since all search engines are based on algorithms and keyword filtering, real people are often drafted up in order to manually check, configure, optimize and analyze data. My job, on a freelance basis, involved sifting through numerous queries and websites, subsequently submitting rationalized quality ratings to help improve the search engine.
Prior to being taken on I was required to send in a CV/resume in addition to answering emails and reading, agreeing to and signing a Non disclosure agreement. An exam must be sat too but this is nothing to worry about. Revision is required but the exam is fairly straightforward if you study the source material carefully. I eventually left this job for another which offered more hours as it was only part time
Although the tasks were often difficult and required much thought, the pay was good with tax responsibility falling to myself. Should you successfully take up this job, be aware of any tax you must pay. Hours can be worked whenever you like and range from 10 – 20 per week. I always received my pay by wire transfer on time which was in Euros, so the currency exchange rate will obviously be a factor in how much you earn. The reason I left this job is because I was offered another elsewhere with more hours.
If you think you can offer your abilities as an internet assessor, check out the links at the bottom. You don’t necessarily need a technical mind but knowledge and experience with the internet goes a long way.
Tips- Use Firefox for this job. It’s cleaner, faster and more efficient than Internet Explorer and opening lots of new tabs as opposed to new windows helps speed things up.
- Study the revision material carefully.
- If you get the job, don’t post sensitive details on forums or websites. I’ve been careful to respect the non disclosure agreement I signed and have only revealed what is already publicly available.

I sent my cv to Lionbridge for a label editor position. I received an online exam that I did and I now have to be present for a three telephone exam. They said they would email me info but i haven't heard and the phone call is on Thursday. It's already Tuesday. I'm really nervous because I really want this job. Can anybody let me know if they've been through this as well?
Thanks,
Kris0
