If you have problems with my decisions then the abuse team can be approached by clciking on the red triangle on any of my posts.

I will remove posts that have no point within a thread or are placed just to cause an argument, or breach any other rule. However as a board guide I am not able to permanently remove a post, I just hide them from public view until abuse take a look and either amend/reinstate or completely remove the post.

However, most of the posts have not been removed by me, but by the team direct and you would need to approach them anyway if you have a problem with their decision.

If abuse feel that posts breach any rules then yes they will be removed, mine included.

So did anyone come up with some real definate concrete factual advice for this so we could all benefit from it in the future. I mean real facts and not opinions (mine included) .

i think pretty much we all agreed (well as much as possible on this board) that this type of fraud is hard to prosecute. The main moral of the story, don't buy high end goods via ebay, especially if the seller requests a cheque as it is too limited protection wise.

the procedure to follow if you do get stung is report the fraud to the police, they won't spring into action to hunt down your money/product but they will log the info with the police local to the seller, if he gets a few similar reports made about him he'll get a tug from the coppers. in the mean time get your crime number and try the small claims court.

I don't see much else you can do.

If it wasn't for the fact the OP has such a high post count, I'd be wondering why they created this thread and have not come back to it. It's the sort of subject matter you'd think they would keep informed.

Possibly another wind up, just like the excessive postage thread the other day?

As it is, we just have one vague opening post, and 4 pages of "I'm right, you're wrong, send the boys round, I know more than you, I told you so, my dad's bigger than your dad."

And for that reason "I'm oot".

Well the post in question was in reply to this one above and was totally civil in it's content, surely if mine was deemed irrelevant to the thread this one must be too.....should i hit the red triangle??

The red triangle is on the bottom LH corner of posts

Please feel free to use it.

Thanks, i'll use it next time you and the gang post abusive personal attacks on me, but i'll refrain from using it in a petty manner to censor others as is clearly happening here, i'm sure the abuse team are busy enough without petty reports flooding through..;)

Sorry for the late reply, I've been away for a couple of days with no internet access.

The cheque had unfortunately already been cashed, so stopping it isn't an option. He has decided to pursue the matter through the small claims courts, and failing that he has a few 'friends' who will pay the seller a visit...the seller has made a major mistake by conning someone with a few unsavory associates, the kind who organise certain post-match football activities ;)

Let us know what happens after the court case.

    It'd be a first time.

Out of the considerable number of MSE posts referring to an alleged wrongdoer getting his / her "just desserts" (or posters volunteering to provide that) the number of follow-up reports has so far been. . . zero.

I can't believe all these handy lads / my fellow rugby team players / my nightclub doorman bruvver / my Uncle Tony Soprano never actually do anything, so there's a breakdown of communication somewhere. . .

    ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'd thought they would be wasting money going down a small claims route, especially after signing for the delivery. Very hard to prove anything now and if true who's to say who put an Argos catalogue there??
