Ladyshopper it was good wasn't it? Glad you enjoyed your treat. When it's something you don't do very often that what makes it a treat- stands out from the everyday.
Pooky spectacular cake:T :T Is it cake inside or more choccy?0 -
Thanks all
Twitty - yes I managed to disguise it well I think!!
It's a chocolate sponge in the middle (with strawberry jam and choccy butter icing) , however it's only the 2nd time I've baked in my new oven (I'm used to electric and this is gas) and for some reason the middle of one of the cakes decided not to cook and fell out when I took it out the tin.....amazing what you can do with another layer of butter cream and a few more packs of smarties"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Good afternoon all. Hope this finds everyone well. Have been very productive today. Changed the bed ,washed the bedding and dried it(in the TD
)
Have put the duck carcass in with the usual stock stuff and it smells fantastic. Will cook then freeze. Thanks for the tip.
Been on Lilly Beetle patrol and dispatched twelve today:eek: How can something so nice looking be so bad
Have a loaf in the BM didn't plan on baking bread but I went to ASDA to get a couple of things and was horrified at the state of the bread(if I am going to pay through the nose I want something that I might actually want to eat!)
Mrs CM had a lovely time last night in Burnley. I spoke to her this morning and given the very late night (and as a consequence the late start this morning:rotfl:)she is coming home tomorrow. Its quite a long drive and the alternative would be to miss the trip to Boundary Mill to get home. Given that I am seriously busy this evening it works well.
I think time with her sister will do her good. She works stupidly hard and takes on all of the family troubles and worries and I love seeing her with her DSis as they can talk and laugh for England............... BIL is taking the children out for the day and I feel it will do them both a load of good.
This comming week is a sad and difficult one for us as it is the aniversary of our twins birth(they would have been eight) and it is still as raw as it ever was. To be honest June (and the 10th July) are days to survive but survive we do.
Tonight I am going to be a slob(sorry-all of your very kind but incorrect notions of what I am like will be going up in smoke !!:rotfl:) I am going to have HM(not by me though)Pizza with chips:o I also have a hot date........ With the remote, my TV, some Doritos(maybe) and some Englands Glory:o:o:o:o
Beth thanks for the duck idea that sounds excellent. Thank you.
Harribo I must admit i have been amazed at just how much I enjoy cooking and baking. It almost started as a joke between me and my mum but has now really become far more than just a hobby. I honestly love it.
Anyway, I am sorry for the deep and meaningful in the middle of this post. Don't worry won't refer to it again.
As ever thanks for all the help you give to me and for the great sence of caring on this wonderful board.
Have a great evening. CM.0 -
Lots of (((hugs))) to you, Catman, and your DH. It must be such a painful time for you. Please don't apologise for mentioning it here.

Catman here's a dodgy hug for you & Mrs Catman :grouphug: I find certain dates hard after losing both my parents, I cannot begin to imagine your feelings.0 -
Hiya everyone
Catman glad your mum had a good time last night and so did we.There were thousands of us and I do mean thousands of us that lined the route and followed the buses up to the Town Hall.Worrying news this morning though that Celtic may nick our manager but fingers crossed Owen will stick with us next season
well its been a wet day here and I've been busy restocking the cupboards and catching up on the washing that I haven't had time for over the last few days.I've got loads of bought bread leftover from the weekend so wont need to make any for a few days.Yoghurt maker has been on and yoghurt strained and in the fridge now.Took some LO chicken out of the freezer to have with salad and coleslaw for our tea and the kids had fish with new pots and veg.
No BGT tonight so kids can have an early night as they've had some pretty late ones recently.Tomorrow OH is back at work so need to be up and about early to get things ready for him.Footies on tv tonight but somehow not keen on Man Utd:o so might watch a movie instead
