OS Daily Wednesday 27 May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 27 May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning,
Awake so early as DS1 has had a coughing fit, poor thing, it was relieved with warm juice but as I was wide awake I decided to get up. DS2 is up as well so we shall enjoy the peace & quiet
Plans for today include going shopping, flylady list, ironing & baking. Dinner this evening is chicken tikka in pitta's with salad.
Hope that everyone has a good day & (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) where needed.

Morning everyone.
Looking grey and dull here. Still no real rain, my poor water butt is nearly bone dry. Please fill it asap, my water meter can't cope with me using tap water!!
Have a cold comingTaking my eccinachea (sp?) but it's not working and I think its not getting enough sleep thats keeping me run down. Think the kids have got it coming too so that's all I need.
I have no idea what's for tea tonight. I haven't even looked at the meal plan yet, hope it's something easy!
Bought some more cauliflower veggies yesterday to replace my babies that have died. Also bought some radish seeds as my mum wants me to plant and grow some for her!
Got the usual housework to do today. Might bake some hobnobs as a pick me up
Have a good day all, OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning.
One reason I resisted a water meter! Although I admit some people have no option.
18 hour day yesterday at work and more to follow today, but hopefully I will be home in time to see the Champions league final.
Not much else going on around here, I am just focused on my job for a few days.
Managed to get a glimpse of the Bristain tallent thing during a meal break. It is supposed to be variety, but why is it that only singers and dancers win?
Have a good oneNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning all.
Dull and overcast here today too.
Dd went to a roller skating party last night and managed to graze her
leg so was up quite a lot last night. Ds2 and Ds3 went night fishing last
night so hopfully will be back soon. Going to go and get some basic
stuff if it doesn't rain too much and make some more pies.
Tea today is going to be the coronation chicken recipe off here.0 -

Good morning everyone  I'm taking the children shopping today. We all need summer clothes, and I need to pop into the spice shop to replenish my stocks, and buy some seeds for breadmaking. DD and I will browe the craft shops, too - I need blue tapestry wool to finish the background to a cushion :j
Yesterday's post included a free packet of seeds from the National Trust, and my first copy of Prima (bought on subscription with Mr T tokens). Thanks for the recommendation, Haribo!
Old Style jobs for today:
finish :rotfl: Flylady list before we go out
beef rogan josh for supper
Churchmouse - welcome back
Haribo - hope you see your little green friend soon (and no, your paragraph was perfectly sensible)
Have a great day, everyone, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Weather is a bit rubbish here today. First day back on full hours so am not relishing the thought. Here is hoping its a quick day for me.
Today there will have to be a big clean when I get home carpets full of doggy hair. You just seem to hoover and its all back again.
At least its half way though the week for me.
Have a good day everyone xAlthough I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Morning All
Overcast here at the moment but no rain, Bitsy we have had a lot the last couple of days so are lucky and the garden looks good. Kids not so happy though. Sorry about your cold - mine is nearly going now thankfully.
Today we are off to DD's orthodontist - a trip we all hate. He will moan at her - always does even though there is nothing she can do - and then she will moan all the way home & for the rest of the day. DS is coming with us so hopefully he can cheer me up!
Other than that its officework and paperwork for me. Kids want to go out for a bike ride later but OH needs to sort out DS' puncture first.
Not too much OS other than will have to descale my iron with vinegar before I can iron. We have such hardwater round here. Strangely our shower that was broken has just started working again so will be taking the new one back so that will be a £90 refund :j
Need to start getting stuff ready for the boot sale we are going to on Sunday - getting rid of loads of books which is clearing my office out. Fingers crossed its nice then.
Off now for a peaceful surf as the kids are still in bed:D

I also need to redo a couple of my hanging baskets, as they aren't doing too well, still the orher 4 are looking good.
Leftovers from Monday for tea tonight, beef in red wine with mash, carrots & cabbage.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
Had a lovely afternoon at GD's birthday party - 5 year olds can reach some ear piercing decibels when they run around the soft play area can't they ;):D
DS was due to pick his new car up yesterday, we all trooped up to the bank to get the bankers draft after consulting the closing times on the web only to find they were wrong and they had closed  Will try again today. I have to drop him off to work today as we shuffled all the car insurances around last night and now he can't drive his old car due to not being insured on it any moreLuckily one of his friends can pick him up at the end of the day.
Not much OS going on apart from tonight when I will be sitting in front of the tele with a cuppa and a slice of HM fruit loaf tonight watching my favourite team in the Champions League Final. COME ON YOU RED DEVILS
Hope you all have a good day xxxx0
