Thats good that you are getting money micro....

My ex promised the girls money yesterday and phoned to say how he's been ;screwed over' yet again being paid. Its amazing how someone in 10 years can continually take commission based work and not get paid cos they never pay him....how green do i look???

So i have been promised money by xmas...directly from him

My claim is now with REMO after a 2 week delay from when i went to court in November as Steve was off. He has said if there is no word by the end of next week he will chase it up. I think after xmas i will be emailing him once a week ;-)

    They cannot escape their responsibilites

Any of you going through REMO - stick with it! Kimi - if your ex has started to pay bits and pieces - great - just keep the court informed as to what payments he has made, but keep the case going - otherwise you have to start all from scratch again if he decides to mess you around again.
I've gone through REMO with Canada, and my ex has HAD to make his payments, as well as come up with arrears - he's not happy, but my kids are getting what they are entitled to finally! Hang in there, see it through. If the ex all of a sudden has no problems paying their child support - then in reality, they shouldn't mind that it's being monitored by an enforcement agency in their country of residence.

JJ- i heard last week from REMO in London confirming that my application has been sent to Florida. Just a matter of time before the proverbial hits the fan...and it will.

He very kindly wired the 2 older children £120 each for xmas. This went down rapidly from sending me $2000 to cover some arrears to him not getting paid( an ongoing theme for the past 10 years) and just sending the girls money.

On another note, i am having problems with the ex at the moment as he is claiming the girls as dependants on his taxes. This results in HIM receiing $1000 rebate per child that they neer see. He has been audited and is paying back $500 a mth that he owes for incorrectly claiming the girls( they have to be resident in the US for 6mth 1day a year in order for him to do that) He wants copies of their american papers for the IRS and tbh i think he has a cheek. Im refusing to send him copies at the moment. Seems petty maybe, but why the heck should he get a tax break for kids he doesnt support....??
  • Hiya, still going through all the motions. My delays are down to translation difficulties as my REMO is in another country. I have no doubt it will succeed as it has for AxiousMum, it is an exercise in patience and a waiting game. I've done all I can do, and thank you for your question for an update - it has jogged me and I will write again to the majistrate court to ask for an update on my REMO, as I haven't heard from them for a few months (this is normal).

Good luck to all the rest of you! Keep on going and don't give up.
  • Thank you Playinghardball and Kimi31 for all your advice. (sorry i got your name wrong Playinghardball the 1st time but my heads bamboozled with all this as you probably understand - but it did make me laugh).

My first trip to the magistrates court 4yrs ago and they never had a clue what i was talking about. Called in again the last week after reading all your posts re: REMO and they still looked speechless, telling me I had to put it in writing! When I told them no REMO office in London and the Official Solicitor website advise you must give me a form she said she would look into it!!!

Anyway I'll plod on as normal.

Are you trying for a variation order through Remo? if so, you can download the form from the courts website.

Emailed Steve today to let him know i had received the last letter from London and to see if Liverpool have had anything. He stated he had had a letter and it sounds like the same one i have already had.
He was going to wait 3 months to follow up but has now asked me to remind him in a month and he will contact London to chase Florida

Of course, I have had NRP promising me support again and not following through so much so i have stopped answering the phone to him and not responding to texts.

Its the babys birthday next month, and middle daughter has a residential that needs paying off....all down to me as usual....

Fingers crossed peoples that we get where we need to be
  • Hi Anxiousmum

I am trying for child maintenance through REMO as CSA closed the case as out of their jurisdiction, when NRP left the country.

Thing is it took 2 years and a tribunal before CSA advised no we cannot collect maintenance from his £314pw Army pension but we can collect the arrears - so they did by DEO at £200pm and they were cleared in 8mths. They evengive me £100 comp for all the misleading info I had been given.
