Ok folks not off to a good start
When i swore in my docs last week, they took the originals of the birth certificates, marriage and divorce certificates to take copies
I was told they could post them back to me or i could go get them.
I told them i could go this week( i work) and i emailed steve FIVE times last week, making sure i was to pick them up and where i was to go to get them? And to make sure he didint decide to post them out to me
Now i am only going over to pick these up and taking my 2 yr old with me so dont want to go on a wasted journey...
I have had NO reply...
What am i supposed to do??
Have emailed him again this morning0 -

I still haven't heard anything from the county court in Liverpool - they said it would be 10 working days before anyone looked at the day folder and its now 4 weeks since I handed in my affidavit - they don't make things easy.
even though he paid this month there's still outstanding arrears and I want a formal arrangement in place to make sure he pays what he's supposed to - DD is starting to look at universities and she's adamant she's moving away.0 -
So i went to pick up my docs and was told that my forms have been sent off ( to London i assume?)
Steve said i should then wait to hear from the US. And to let him know and he would do likewise.
No mention of any delays.....
Fingers crossed.:)0 -
Hiya, they'll send your forms to the London REMO office. Well done, and good luck! Keep us posted0

I got a phone call from Liverpool yesterday to say my papers were in front of the judge and he wanted to know if I'd received any money since submitting them. I told her he'd paid 1 month's maintenance and she said she'd go back and tell the judge and if there was a problem she'd phone me straight back but if I didn't hear from her to assume he'd signed the papers but to let her know if I receive any further payments.
She didn't phone back so fingers crossed for me too that everything's signed and on its way to London0 -
Fingers Crossed Micro...
can i ask why you didnt have a swearing in session. My papers were signed in front of me by the judge....???0 -
Not sure really. when I first enquired I was told just to write in, then I got a letter saying because my consent order was made in the county court I had to apply in a slightly different way.
I had my affidavit done by the firm who handled my divorce and then swore it at the public counter - hopefully it contains everything needed for the American court as most of it was taken from the info I provided and the dozy secretary forgot why she'd requested my file and sent it back to the archive dept before my appointment.0 -
Latest update - had another payment from ex. Phoned the court and they asked if I still wished to proceed. I'm concerned this may be a stalling tactic on his part (his mum has told him I've been to court) and I could be in the same position next year, she agreed and said as he's still got outstanding arrears she's going to speak to the judge today about proceeding with the application.
She said its all new to them and 'a bit of learning curve even for the judge' but they're dealing with 2 american claims (must be yours Kimi) and one with New Zealand and these people can't walk away from their responsibilities. She gave me the name of her manager who's overseeing my case and I got the impression they've been doing a lot of research.0
