Have you put a different network SIM in the dongle and then tried dc unlocker program, that may help

your not supposed to have a sim in the dongle are you?

You shouldn't have it in when actually flashing / unlocking but if you are testing it for its unlocked status you need another SIM in to verify if it is unlocked as otherwise it has nothing to test against

O2 are changing their pricing strategy when the new I-phone launches later this month so maybe being able to use the iphone sim might stop soon??

Although the iPhone itself comes with an unlimited data subscription as part of the contract, many people had looked forward to being able to use their iPhone as a "dongle" – able to connect their computer to the internet. Apple has explicitly allowed such "tethering" in the new version of the software controlling the iPhone, which will be released on June 19.
But O2 has decided that it will impose an extra monthly charge to allow such use. A 3GB allowance costs £14.68 per month, and a 10GB allowance costs £29.36 per month.

I was thinking the same - since the announcement of tethering on Monday the telcos have a vested interest in monitoring and enforcing access by other than iPhones.

3G O2 coverage is very bad where I live. Would it be worth me getting an antenna to improve 3g reception and can anyone recommend one for the 02 dongle (Huawei 160).

Vodaphone 3g coverage is good but Vodaphone don't sell a 3g sim without the dongle and I've got the 02 one now!

Thanks people, now working on O2, and my girfriends Orange sim! What a bargain!!!
  • Went with this offer on the O2 dongle. Got it delivered for £8.63 delivered using promotion code ZG007. Truly a brilliant offer for this dongle which is already a great deal at O2.
  • Just ordered mine. It is now priced at £15.00 which is still good. But I entered code ZG007 which took £10 off. With postage of £3.95 that makes it £8.95 delivered.

But has anyone had the £10 put back onto their card yet. I was told to wait 14 days which is up tomorrow and still no refund.

I sent a second email yesterday, having received a promise that a refund would be made, but it hasn't shown on my Visa statement. I pointed out that a subsequent order had its refund made immediately and therefore that I suspected no refund had been made with reference to the dongle.
I received a quick reply to say my query was being passed elsewhere and I'd be contacted shortly.
    So, more waiting...
