Is there a step-by-step guide on how to get the iphone sim working on a netbook/laptop with an O2 (or unlocked) dongle?
Do you top-up with £10 with the sim in the dongle or do you have to put it in a O2 phone or iphone to top-up?

Here are some notes I found in the forums I stored away ready for when i activate my iPhone card: (sorry I can't remember who made the notes so I shamefully cannot accredit them for it)

iPhone – potentially 12 months internet for the price of a £10 top-up.
To top simply buy a £10 top up from the newsagents and activate it by dialling their landline number 08456 062 277, (or 4444 from any unlocked phone), then you just key in the sim card mobile number and add the credit to it with the top up voucher numbers you obtained from the local shop. You do not need to have an iphone or any phone for the credit to go on, as you will have topped up via the landline system. http://www.o2.co.uk/shop/paygotopup/topupvoucher

EDIT: You then get access to the internet free for 12 months and according to their T&C's this "should" be for iPhones only! Just be cautious if you hammer the service O2 have the right to terminate the service due to the abuse.

this is a megga buy at worst it will cost you £13.75!!!!, you may all pass comment about the price and want something for nothing but in the case of this dongle its a win win. These dongles usally come locked so unlocking it will cost from £5-£15 quid. Also the dongle is a micro sd card reader aswell so it can double up as a memory stick, two uses for the price of one.

Firstly you need to test your dongle to see its unlocked go to dc-unlocker.com/downloads down load client software and click maginfying glass to get dongles details if it come up unlocked (fantastic) then down load generic dash board dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/33 E160_dashbaord etc etc etc. Run software and it will earse the 02 software from the dongle and put the genric software on. Only thing now is put your choose sim card in and the Network setting/APn and way you go.

Free three sim three.co.uk/freesim to tes your connections the 3 sim will allow you to connect to my3.three.co.uk It will be the best £13.75 used in a long while if you can get it cheaper then great and good luck which makes the dongle a BARGIN BARGIN

I have tried this, used loads of different versions of the E160 and searched other sites, but the DCunlocker s/w fails to recognise the dongle, I get the following msg

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0261

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei datacards
    model - Huawei E160/E160G/E160X
    application port - COM4
    diagnostic port - COM3

    Found modem : E160
    Model : Huawei E160/E160G/E160X
    IMEI : 351596035196577
    Firmware : 11.608.02.01.00
SIM Lock status : unknown(read failed)

sorry, this card not supported !

    Please, check manufacturer's selection !

    Any ideas guys???

Have you put a different network SIM in the dongle and then tried dc unlocker program, that may help
