When I've booked flights/holidays over the internet I've had an instant email confirmation of what I've booked.

Have you checked your email spam as sometimes these emails go straight into spam.

it's not that Poppy9, it's that whatever holidaygenie were advertising (and they were advertising it on their site) when the e-ticket has come through on email (there might have been a delay) the internal flight from DC to Orlando, was a totally different time, and the OP is having to wait hours and hours, rather than just a few..

We've given the OP information, and they've started a new thread, and doesn't think they'll be awake enough to take a short sightseeing tour of DC while there, and just wants their flight sorted, and we're supposed to magic up things..

We've given advice, and fingers crossed they'll get it solved, but obviously, it isn't the right advice..

I do appreciate the advice given. I'm still trying to contact holidaygenie but nothing yet.

I don't think 10 hours on a plane will be that relaxing with a 3 and 6 year old. It never has been in the past anyway. Add onto that 4 hours drive to the airport from the south west i'm sure people will see why a sightseeing tour doesn't appeal.

I've written to holiday genie, telephoned them and left countless messages. I'll give it until tomorrow and then contact the airline I think.

I contacted UA and they said thy couldn't change anything. It had to come from the agents and could be changed but just not by me.

I then contacted holidaygenie again and talked to someone else. I explained everything and they told me that reservations had now changed my flight and I would be sent confirmation later.

I asked for the exact changes but they wouldn't tell me just said that i'd get the details later via email.

It sounds good but I have yet to receive the email about changes and i'm really not sure they're telling the truth.

you can check you itinerary on the united website, give them a call with your details and ask them for your booking number (if it's not on your e-tickets) and then check the united website and it will give you all your flight details etc, you can also book your seats and do up-grades etc, I would also join their miles club for each of the passengers and then request and upgrade to ecc plus

    good luck

Still no email about the new times. So I contacted Holidaygenie again. They now don't have any record of flight changes.

They told me I needed to speak to Alex the manager who hasn't called back for over a week despite more than a dozen messages. He was in a meeting and would have to call back.

To my surprise he hasn't called back despite promises from the other staff member.

What next, i'm just lost now.

    When do you fly?

i'm sure they'll get bored of you call eventually, and sort out the problem, which obviously is their problem.

i know you've already given it a week, but maybe next time you call, ask for a timescale.

    is alex available - no
i have been trying to speak with him for the past week. I need a call back within the next 2 hours. If i don't have that call back in the next 2 hours, I have no other option but to take this matter further.

i would also, go to this page on their website and log this as a complaint

    keep at them!!!!

The problem is how do I prove its their problem ? I'll leave a message and keep on at them like you say though.

Also how can I take it higher when its the manager who won't reply to my messages.

I think you should see if you can change the flights via united - have you checked if you can do this via their website itinerary?
