Given Wrong Flight Times

I booked a flight to Orlando for my family at the weekend flying in August.
It was indirect with a connection in Washington to arrive in Orlando just before 5.00pm.
Now my etickets have been sent through with different connection times. I now have an 11 hour wait in Washington and arrive in Orlando at midnight.
I contacted holiday genie but at the moment they aren't giving me an option to change and just say that is what I booked. I know for a fact that I didn't book these times but can't prove it.
What can I do ? I don't want to sit in an airpot for 11 hours with a 3 and 6 year old.

Don't sit in the airport then. Get into DC and make a day of it.0 -
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Fully agree with that, you can easily get into DC from any airport, and that will take up to about an hour.. make sure you leave 2 to get back, you'll already be checked in, but you'll need to go back through security, and be at the boarding gate at least 15 mins before departure.
when in DC, you could easily, go around to the white house, washington memorial, jefferson memorial, and walk down the national mall to the capitol building...
i did that in March, and it took me about 4 hours in total, add on an hour to the airport and back, and you've taken up 6 hours, and i'm sure the children will be tired by that point..
Simples!

my mathematical brain is working here.. and i'm just trying to find the flights, to see if we can shed any light on this..
United Airlines UA0923, Economy(S) London (LHR) to Washington (IAD) Depart: 02/08/2009 07:55 Arrive: 02/08/2009 11:10
United Airlines UA0235, Economy(S) Washington (IAD) to Orlando (MCO) Depart: 02/08/2009 14:35 Arrive: 02/08/2009 16:43
so if that is the flight, then that's still available on the website, you need to really complain
However, i've checked on the United website, and there is a flight from IAD to MCO, departing at 21.52 arriving at 23.56 which sounds like the one they've booked you on, flight number UA0260 rather than UA0235.
you need to be emotionless and give them facts, saying that you booked to be on flight UA0235, and your tickets are wrong, and not the same as what you booked.. (did you take screen grabs when you were booking)
If all else fails, speak to United, and see if they'll swap the flight for you... if that doesn't work.. then there is one final thing up my sleeve..
When at the airport, you go to an information counter, explain that you're booked on a really late flight* and would like to know if there is anyway they can bump you to an earlier flight.. that late flight might be full, and they might appreciate you offering to do this for them..
*the only time you can really do that, is once you've cleared customs, and BEFORE you re-check your luggage, as they may need to retag it...

I made a booking last week with holiday genie.
The booking was done on the internet for an indirect flight to Orlando. The connection was in Washington and I had a 2 hour wait. However when my eticket and booking form came though it said I had an 11 hour wait in Washington.
I contacted the company and was told that was what I booked and it couldn't be changed
Is this true ? I've got 2 children of 3 and 6 and couldn't have an 11 hour airport wait.
What are my options ?
I've been told that its possible to just contact my credit card company and cancel the payment. Is this true ?
I have no proof that the timings are wrong but I know for a fact that these aren't the times I booked.
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
Very doubtful-your word against their's.
I'd probably make the best of it and turn it into an extra bit of holiday and go sightseeing instead personally. Lots to see in Washington.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
