Yup, one of the joys/pitfalls of buying and selling on ebay. I believe buyers have up to 6 weeks to make the claim... Paypal obviously thought they did have a reason, and your ranting at them rather than giving them the facts probably didn't do you a favour.
And how can no one know it's at the post office when you told us you know it's there??
Why can't you just put the money in your paypal account, as that's how you received the money in the first place!!?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

What you need to remember firstly when selling on ebay and accepting payment through paypal is, paypal will refund almost any buyer no matter what reason they give. The buyer could have given his reason as i dropped it in the bath and the seller never said it wasn't waterproof, or something equally stupid and paypal would have probably still refunded him.
The second thing to remember is that you don't have to accept their nonsense and you are within your rights when selling an item by auction that is second hand, not to accept returns, you are not a business so as long as it was a tom tom and was described to the best of your ability as honestly as possible and the device was fit for purpose, i.e. navigation by vehicle then paypal had no right to refund.
If i was you i would remind paypal of this and tell them you won't be refunding them for the money they gave to the buyer as you are within your rights to consider the sale final and you did not authourise paypal to refund, therefore you are not liable for any money they may have given to the buyer.0 -

what a sensible fantastic response.
thankyou.i dont have the courage to fight them.i cant risk a default on my cra file.which is why i was disputing but also saying i will pay.it didnt seem to matter that they had two reasons ,when one didnt work with paypal and one reason with ebay.
all im now worried about is if they default my cra files.
thanks again i thought i was going mentallittlewoods/littlewoods direct/marshall ward/kays/greatuniversal/empire stores/addittions/grattans/next/ambrose wilson.barclay card/cap1/bos/vanquis gold/vodafone/3 .dell finance/currys finance

Incidently, you have my utmost sympathies, I HATE paypal, they seem to think theyre a godsworth:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

in this situation paypal can not register anything on your credit file unless they take you to the county court and you lose. Since the law states you do not have to accept returns on second hand goods sold at auction providing they are fit for purpose then they could not win this case, therefore you should not of paid and if i was you i'd issue a claim against them.0

Hmmm I think you need to calm down, I dont use Paypal as I dont trust them, but it seems here you have an attitude problem that certainly wont go in you favour

well i opologise if ive given attitude to a member on your forum.but it just seemed she was posting a little quick rather than actually reading it properly.i do realise my spelling and grammar are poor.
agree with you about paypal.
my biggest problem is i sold a brand new pnone 325.i have 100% poss feedback.they blocked my money for fraud reasons untill they recieved poss feedback from buyer.they did and i got my money.after i chased buyer up.
what if he was scammer.what if he didnt give any feedback.where the sellers protection.rubish.
they need tightly regulating.littlewoods/littlewoods direct/marshall ward/kays/greatuniversal/empire stores/addittions/grattans/next/ambrose wilson.barclay card/cap1/bos/vanquis gold/vodafone/3 .dell finance/currys finance

thanks for that.now i have payed i do feel more able to fight it as i havent got to worry so much.i may claim now if i can.problem is,even when im polite they dont read what your sending them.all i get is standard replies that are not relevent and are jibberish when put againt the mail i sent them.
also unfortunatley dca's and companys like paypal regualy default people when it is ilegal,in that process, to do so.
thanks for another sensible responselittlewoods/littlewoods direct/marshall ward/kays/greatuniversal/empire stores/addittions/grattans/next/ambrose wilson.barclay card/cap1/bos/vanquis gold/vodafone/3 .dell finance/currys finance
