Soappie - does it feel odd that you may have your place to yourself sometime soon?

Yes! Extremely odd! It will take a lot of adjusting to. I will have a whole two extra rooms that will be mine, all mine - mwhahahaha. Don't know what I'll do with them mind!

No more nagging people to remember to open the bathroom window - even if it's just for 10 minutes - after a shower to try and stop the mould invading again.

The plus sides are that the gas and elec bills - plus other bills will be MUCH cheaper. Although DD and DiL pay rent, it's only a nominal amount and doesn't cover the costs of their keep. I'll get single person's discount on the council tax.

The only mess around will be mine. There'll be no more bathroom conflict in the morning, no more towel monsters and battles over the over use of the tumble drier and washing machine.

The food bill will reduce enormously.

BUT, it will be very strange just having me, the dog, the two cats and the three fish in the house. I may end up becoming a hermit.

But, I might just let out one of the rooms to a foreign language student ... for a bit of extra cash:D

Underneath, I'm a bit sad. The last of my fledglings is finally fleeing the nest. Regardless of the statement 'It's about time too', it's going to take some adjusting to.

soappie be careful choosing a conveyancer, we had a "legal executive" who was useless, we complained about her and got money off the bill. That said, I'm sure there are excellent "legal executives" and terrible solicitors out there.

Just seen that little girl dry up on stage in BGT - poor thing!

DS2 and I built a compost bin this morning - and half filled it already! I have had my 'me time' as I had my hair cut this afternoon. Part of the route is closed at the moment, so for once I walked down which was very pleasant. Quick trip into town with DD and DS2 after as they had shopping to do - I bought DS2 a pair of jeans yesterday, and he went back to buy the other pair he liked.

I have done a minuscule bit of preparation for school - I thought about it a bit, and got the files out. ;) At least my own copy of the textbook arrived today. I'll try and do a bit early tomorrow.

boddy - it was a lovely day for a walk, and I'm glad your mum enjoyed it. I'm going to see my mum tomorrow afternoon, and take my dad's birthday present as well.

pigpen - sounds like you've had some excellent advice. I can't offer any - but will send you loads of supportive vibes.

    rach - hugs.

soappie - I've done four days so far. Keeping fingers crossed I can persuade the teens to do more tomorrow, and get the fifth...

dusty - sounds like you had a great day! Sympathise about the non-revising, as DS1 has three exams this week, and has not visibly done anything to prepare...

flower - hope you feel better soon - some sort of virus?? Look after yourself.

I know, she is so sweet! She's just sung again and is crying - but she sang the whole song this time and sang it so beautifully! She is such a great singer! I don't often want to vote but I do want to vote for her. Her name is Hollie Steele if anyone wants to see it online.

Dec is very good with children isn't he? He always gives thm a hug when they are upset

Hi Thrify, welcome to the thread. Our official meeter and greeter Toots is ill at the moment but I will put a :xmastree:so that Pigpen and Soappie see you. Don't worry about keeping up, it seems daunting at first. If you can't keep up with the thread don't worry, and just take it slowly to start off with the flying. If you aim for level one each day and then gradually build up it's amazing the difference you see in your house very quickly!
