i do think applying online is and quicker does save time and a big phonebill dialing those 0870 and 0845 numbers to be told NO

But then people could argue both ways isnt it?

And I am so for appealing too

I can't be bothered in appealing, the likely hood in having it overturned are very slim.

I'm more likely to find Redrum than get my HSBC decision overturned.

I'm immune to declines now. I've had that many that it doesn't come as a shock anymore. :o

My latest is a decline from HSBC for a Plus account.

lol, i still think it stings when i get a decline, lol

Takes me a few days to get over it, lol

in what way mate? when you apply from externally, they credit check you and provisionally accept you. Then when you return forms they check again and even though you think you been accepted, they can still decline as happens to me a lot. Ive had all sorts of limits from £300-£3k but never passed the application verification unit mate.

They do use internal scoring, there are a few Natwest staff here who can answer specifics....

Well I have an RBS current account. Just was wonderin if its possible to get a credit card based on just account performance and how long they check back for.

How long have you held account for?
Is your salary credited to RBS
I have been with Natwest since 2003, started with step account, now have ad gold, 2 savings accounts and an ISA.
Applied for credit card and overdraft last year got told to sod off, just recently applied for ad gold credit card, approved in branch but not building my hopes up until it's in my hand. Advisor in branch says 100% guaranteed to arrive but we will see

A forum member called 'Londonuk' has a Natwest current account (RBS Group) and they gave him a loan based purely on internal score, no credit checks were completed.

I'm sure one forum member will try to contradict this, but it's true.
