Well the increasing phone bill has been dealt with a quick look at the last few detailed bill revealed lots of 1471 return calls - DH responsible - and lots of very short calls to mobiles at 25p a time - teenagers - so the riot act has been read - feel stupid that I had not looked at them before

Well done on payday and great that you are looking at where to save money. It's a always handy to do that.0

Ouch, that return 1471 is a killer - but I'm glad you've been able to identify the reasons. Its all we can do. Hope you've got something nice planned today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi
have to agree on the MS, I feel its not worth it because of the hassle involved, but then I think that every little bit counts. Now I work in town centre may look again as it may be easier to get some to do in lunch time.

I have not done a MS for ages and I have decided to have a break for a bit. In fact after I do my payment tomorrow to clear my credit card I am also going to have a break from debt bustingI will of course still be paying my minimum payments so the debt will still be going down but at a much slower pace. I envisage at the moment that this will be the situation until the end of the current year which will mean I won't reach my target for paying off 30K by Xmas 2010 or keep up with my target for the MFiT(T2) but as that is a three year challenge I may have chance to claw some of it back in years two and three. I intend to be back with a vengeance in the New Year. So I will update my figures tomorrow and then I think I will wind this diary up as I won't have much to post debtwise. I will keep updating my signature and the two challenges I am on and of course I will keep reading and putting my two pennyworth in on other people's threads:)
The reason behind this change of heart is that I am really worried about my health and in particular my weight after discussing it with my OH I really need to concentrate on that no use being debt free if I don't enjoy good health I want to be fit enough to enjoy it and my health has deteriorated significantly over the last six months in a number of areas which is a big concern. As a result of the combination of my medical conditions I need to go on a very specialised diet medically supervised which won't be cheap to follow and will be very time consuming and also I need to find time to get fit this will stretch my budget and allow little time for extra money making. It is also going to be hard and I don't need the extra stress of debt busting most things can wait until I am debt free but this is not one of them.
But I WILL BE BACK

Aw Hun, I'm very sorry to hear that as I love reading your diary. However, you are so right. This debt - everything in fact is so temporary. The only true riches in life are health and happiness, so you are absolutely right to concentrate on that.
I certainly hope you do keep popping in to say hello, because you'll be sadly missed
I hope you can find a solution to help with your weight and improve your health.
I don't know if it would help, but I was speaking to my sister today. She started having acupuncture a while ago (to help with fertility, but that's another issue) and said she has never felt better. She is a nurse, so well versed in Western medicine, but really wanted a holistic approach. She said she has lost weight and has more energy than ever before and would recommend it to everyone.
Take care and keep in touch xx0 -
Its OK Macgirl no way am I going to disappear - too much property !!!!!! going on :T and this is temporary seeing the doc on Monday to discuss targets etc. so will have a better idea then but I fully expect to be back in full debt busting mode in the New Year - its just that I dont want to bore people with diet talk and no debt busting talk

Bore away! :A0

DT, I'm glad you're still going to be around - and you know, debtbusting isn't the only thing that goes on the dfw board and diaries! Us older ones need to watch our health as much as we watch our finances - absolutely no good zooming into debt freedom if we've wrecked our health - my illness over the last year is a fine indicator of that
I hope that you can reverse the deterioration you're experiencing - it certainly sounds like you expect to do so, if you're going to be bouncing back in the New Year, and I'm glad to hear it!
For me, I had a pleasant surprise today with the 2 mystery shops I mentioned - I was expecting a boring 25 mins or so at each place, pretending to be amazed at the wonderful things they could offer me, and both of them kicked me out after 5 minutes! I've rarely been so glad to leave a place! Only just finished inputting now, howeverI think if you're feeling bad, then debtbusting has to go, apart from minimum payments as you say, its such a grind, you can absolutely do without it.
Don't go! Turn this into a health thread, I'll certainly be staying with you2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
You two have made me laugh thank you:T:A
You might regret it though
