Our EA came out to take the new photo today - only thing was, there are gas works going on all along our road, and in one window there is a beautiful reflection of their stripy safety fencing so now it looks like we have a collection of road funiture stacked up in our front room. Sigh.

Join the club. Perhaps we should start another buyer's support thread...

    Just want to vent.

Our place went on the market in June. Someone offered in the first week about 7K under asking price. We said yes. Transpired they had offered on 3 places over the same weekend. Morons. No money spent on our behalf though.

Footfall through the place is great - had another couple of weeks of viewings and the end of July had another offer, higher than the first, 5K under asking. Brilliant. Place off the market, found somewhere to buy. Spent money...and our buyers pulled out because they thought interest rates were going to hit 12% so they could not afford it. Great.

Back on market, end August accept another offer, similar to last one....we are now 2 weeks away from completion and their buyers pull out because they basically get cold feet in a falling market - seriously, do people think this is some game of playing house? How can you not make your mind up that you are serious until 2 weeks before completion. We are now 1K down having spent out on everything needed for the place we were buying, are going to lose the place we wanted, I have found out the EA systematically lied to us (which they got an earful about and we are getting a fee reduction) having told us to accept this offer because they had not only sold their place but were ready to exchange - meaning we turned away someone who was not in a chain and wanted to view - and I think we will now have to give up until 2011.

I think we've had about 40 viewings and 3 offers over the 4 months so I don't doubt it is priced right and will sell, but I think we're now too close to Xmas.... *head...wall....head....wall*

sounds to me you have something many on here don't, a house that people like!

Oh, can I be part of it too then? We have a buyer, just cannot find a house (well, we HAVE found a house, just buyers are being completely resistent to a reasonable offer) . We're so worried that we will have to move into rented :(

EA rang last night to say that the viewer who didn't show up last weekend wants to come again on Saturday. I'm not sure how much of it was him wanting to come and how much was EA persuading him so not getting hopes up, but at least EA is doing the viewing so we don't have to hang around all day. Still, you never know, we'll see how it goes

On an hopelessly optimistic outlook: slim chance is better than no chance?! I can imagine how frustrating that would be for you - I forget, do you know why they didn't turn up last time?

True, it is a chance (better get that Euromillions ticket whle I'm at it then :D) They said last time they couldn't find the place, which is perfectly possible as our road is split into 3 sections and some bits are one way etc. I suppose it just depends how much you want to see somewhere - when I first viewed it many moons ago I got lost as the road seemed to end (and this was before the days of Google maps and internet on phones) but parked where I was and walked the 2 mins to the right section. I didn't speak to the EA last night, OH did and he said 'they managed to persuade him to come again'- don't know if they were their words or his but just didn't fill me with confidence. I am normally overly optimistic (internally if nothing else) and get disappointed often so trying to reign myself in, but a glimmer of hope is allowed I suppose, thanks :)
