just got all excited as had a reply to my gumtree add that wasnt someone trying to sell me something for a change. they were asking all about the area and our no chain situation. i replied to them.
then investigated them with their email address (should have done that first ) turns out they are a 25% BMV properties for Investors company.
shall see what rubbish they email me back with.
poo, should have investigated first
Thank you to all posters0 -
Thought I'd update on mine. Been on sale since May. Had about 30 viewings, three 2nd viewings and 1 third viewing and no offers. Have dropped price by £5k and informed estate agent we can accept £3.5k less than asking price - but thats our limit. We're a 2 bed flat in South London - think there's too few first time buyers who can afford the deposit. Had a viewing yesterday - you never know!0

Haven't been on in a while because I'm really feeling fed up. Been on with second EA (at 5k lower) since start of July and not a single viewer. Can't decide if this is better or worse than time-wasting viewers our first EA sent.
I think at least when you're getting people through the door you can think 'just maybe...'0 -
Well done on the negotiating jw2003, congratulations! :j
MB gumtree is a real pain in the whatsit sometimes i remember the ridiculous scam people who contacted us when looking for a rental property...Thankfully we found this house through it so it's redeemed itself...;)0 -
Things are quiet on here at the moment, was amazed I had to go to page 7 to find the thread!
Well I gave notice to my agent last week and amazingly they confirmed in writing (as I requested) within 3 days that the contract would end after 16 weeks, which takes us to next Monday, and they even gave me the names of people who had viewed with them  Still shocked that they were actually efficient for once!
We went to see the EA for the house we like last night with a view to going with them and lowering our price if they can negotiate with the vendors. I felt a bit lame about 'trying to do a deal' but the girl was very good and knew where we were coming from, so she's going to speak to the vendors today to see what their position is, and at the moment (partially dependent on outcome of chat with vendor) they're coming round on Monday to sign us up. It's only for 12 weeks this time which takes us up to Christmas, which is fine. Just waiting to hear from them now - trying not to get excited but can't help it!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Easy on that contempt there. The selfish buyers might just sense the desperation when they view your house.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Well I think I better join this. Been trying to sell my flat since the middle of August. Had one viewing since then who said my flat was the best he looked at out of the area, but he wanted a garden! I've had nothing else since. Estate agent has just said he thinks I should put the price down which I think I will. It was initially set at the same price bracket as all the other 1 bed flats in my area, but literally two weeks after I went on the market, they all dropped in price. Non of them have sold yet either.
I know it's difficult times, but you still think I would have had more viewings than just one! I am going to lower the price by £10K today and see if that generates any interest, but it gives me no room for negotiation.
In these difficult times do you reckon it's better to hold out for the same price or a little more than you paid for the property initially, or take an offer lower than what you paid for it and mark it up to experience? I have a £25K deposit in the property so wouldn't be negative equity with the mortgage if I accepted less than what I paid for it, but obviously don't want to do that!0 -

I’m extremely sorry that you don’t understand the law of supply and demand. It’s a shame you have no grasp of economics. What’s going on has been explained to you many many times over, from various perspectives, but because you don’t like what you hear, or don’t understand, you keep banging on. It’s boring and nobody on this sellers’ support thread is interested.
There are actually quite a few positive things that you so-called buyers could be doing to help your situation. That you actively choose NOT to do them, and merely to whinge on here, convinces me that you are just trolls and not actually interested in solving your problem.
Really guys – do you seriously think that repeatedly whingeing at a dozen or so blameless sellers on a message board will make a difference to your situation?
If you really are a buyer, get real, focus on the task, and engage your brains.0
