We are in North East Hampshire. When (hopefully) the sale goes through I will name the EA, if he continues to be as good as he has. Unfortunately, I am not so impressed by the solicitor as they are taking a lifetime to do anything.0

So why don't you guys just lower your prices and there will be no problem selling quick.0

I received a letter this morning from my EA. Its been sent to all vendors from what i can gather. Its basically saying that its a quiet market at the moment so we need to be patient as hes doing all that he can. he then goes on to suggest that we may consider renting our properties out (with him of course) as this is the area of his business that hes expanding. I was a bit taken aback by this letter. i think basically hes struggling big time and hoping by sending out the letter the heat will be off him for a little while and he may even get some new business for his letting arm. Not an option for us as we need the equity in our house to put down as a deposit on the next. Not exactly filled with confidence after reading it though X x x0

humm is a little strange Jen, suppose you can look at it from both points of view, he is keeping you informed, but then it was also make me think he is maybe only just afloat. people have asked us if we want to rent ours out, but i also need the money more than the hastle of renting. Good luck Jen

I sympathise with alot of you. Older members of the thread will remember it took me over a year to sell my house, not through price but lack of buyers! We had in total 6 viewers over 14 months, 3 of those were real tyre kickers (had nothing better to do than look around - no actual interest in buying a property). We dropped to our bare minimum, not what we thought the house was worth but the minimum we needed to give us enough for a deposit on our next place. We couldnt rent out as the area we were moving to had property prices and rentals alot more expensive than where we were so it wasnt an option. We did finally sell, but if it hadnt been for the fact my family was split up over 250 miles I would have given up and stayed where we were, or at least just sat and waited with a view to it happening whenever. We sometimes put too much stress on ourselves and want it to happen NOW, which of course it never does! I dont believe its worth looking at any specific properties until you have an offer, as so many of us can say - our dream house sold before we had ours under offer etc! (and the next dream house, and the next one etc lol) Yes get an idea of what area you want to move to, and ideas of houses etc, but wait until you get that call before you book any appointments (in my opinion of course! Im sure others will beg to differ!) Saves on the heartache!0

I agree Kymie, its also (only my opinion of course) worse for the persons house who you are looking round to get their hopes up if really you are no where near a position to buy. Some of you on here who know my story may say, but hang on you went looking before you actually sold yours (we had a buyer at the time) but thank goodness for us we found the house we wanted and have the best ever parents int he whole wide world (who i know owe a lot of money too) who were able to helps us out, but thats just us.
It took my parents (who had the house next door to us) 3 years to sell there house. it is true that one of her buyers was murdered but still 3 years is a long time

When using sarcasm in written word it tends to help if you use a smiley or a HA HA or even a LOL, find it tends to help get over the fact that you dont mean it.
Its also not a great 'joke' to make here though
